So what are the rules now?

If the list knows someone he can sell stuff, if he's unknown he
can't?

maybe something like...

If someone is a member of the swinog mailing list (i.e. a member of
the swinog community) then it's ok.

I might add as long selling / buying is occasional and not on a
commercial / trading basis, and the seller / buyer is member of the
SwiNOG community, then it's ok.

If we can agree to ban all the autoresponder using idiots as well, and
all the people who do TOFU, and all the people who ask about the latest
Windows XP routing tricks, I certainly agree.

Harsh words, but nevertheless, [EMAIL PROTECTED] is set to moderated.

Remember that Swinog list is for operations, telecom politics in
Switzerland and that kind, but never for sale of used gear. There are
other places like Ebay or Ricardo.

You're right.

It's probably a matter of personal taste.

If a techie working at a Swiss ISP sells a few things, I don't have a
problem.

But if an unknown person simply post a list of stuff, that looks like
a list from a professional used-hardware dealer, with no prices or
information, where the hardware comes from, it's spam (and he even
wrote, that it's spam).

Discussion opened :-)

Amen, Stony.
