All hotels have an oficial lost and found. A quick call should locate your
jacket.

Joe, I vaguely recollect seeing a jacket on a chair in the hospitality suite
late Saturday evening. I'm with Maryanne, ask housekeeping.

Joe, call Housekeeping directly, they usually pick up that stuff. I left
Ken's beloved desk clock in the headboard area of the Raddison
Manchester when I was coming home from a visit with Sarah two years ago,
imagine my heartache when I unpacked and the clock wasn't there. Turns
out housekeeping picked it up and was waiting for my call.

My experience on lost items is that the front desk doesn't always know,
but housekeeping has eyes in the back of their heads!

I had the clock airmailed back to the house within a week!

[Swlfest] Thank you

2011-03-07 Thread Edith Lennon

Hi Rich and John,

I just wanted to send my thanks to you both for the incredible amount of work
you put into this event year after year. I don't know how you do it (or what
*exactly* it is you do)--I just know you do it great (that doesn't sound like
an editor's phrase, does it?).

Anyway, thank you.

But, oy, what a trip from hell getting back to NY that evening. How 'bout a
Spring Fest...???

To 2012!

Edith

p.s. Never got a packet so didn't get a survey form. Loved the venue, but next
time I'll bring a humidifier for the room--the deserts of Egypt weren't that
dry!

Enjoyed the fest.. I plan to be there next year. The same hotel would be

On Friday evening I went down to the California Pizza joint in the mall
across the street. It was the only time I left the building. When I
returned to the hotel I stopped off at the hospitality room for a couple of
brews. Upon packing at midnight Saturday I realized I was missing my
jacket. It is brown with a zipper front. The hotel did not have it in lost
and found. Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks for a great Fest. I also voted to keep it at the Doubletree next
time but wonder if we get 200 attendees because of the 25th anniversary,
will the rooms be large enough to hold the forums?

Yes, not having an antenna pretty much took the SW out of the SWL Fest. If
nothing else works, I am happy to set up a HF listening trailer in the parking
lot with a balloon antenna or two. It will be warm with electricity, internet,
coffee and micro-brew. On the Sunday afternoon there could be a trip to a

The balloon antenna idea or stringing a longwire between the balconies in the

Hi Guys a quick note before I dash out--is it possible if we return to
the same hotel next year they would be more open to having antennas set
up, and Tracy putting his sat dish on the roof (maybe the hotel was
going to see what kind of guests we would be?)

How about an extra day next year for the 25th like what was done for the
20th?

I would think leaving a tile *in* the street might be more useful...

All,

I'm looking for a molecule inventory app for my phone.
Leave a note on a street somewhere.

Joe - I think I saw a jacket like that Saturday night in the Forum
room as I was cleaning up after the banquet. Suggest you contact the
banquet department at the hotel.

Re: [Swlfest] Back Home

2011-03-07 Thread Thomas Witherspoon
Hi, Group,

I got back to NC by train around 7:00pm last night.

I'm with everyone else, I really liked the Double Tree. I also like
the arrangement of everything inside--I could very easily run between
my room and the sessions, for example. The hotel staff were also kind
and helpful.

Rich and John, once again you pulled off a great 'Fest. Thank you both
so much for your dedication to this fine event.

Cheers,
Thomas

Thanks for a great Fest. I also voted to keep it at the Doubletree next time
