I was able to pickup 6925 about a mile from the fest on my way home Saturday, so what ever was in use was working. -- Original Message -- From: Richard Cuff To: Discussion list for the Winter SWL Fest Subject: Re: [Swlfest] Antenna ho? Not sure, given the reinforced concrete construction, if the wire strung between balconies would be affected. Re: [Swlfest] Antenna ho?
Even as a daytripper, I liked the setting at Plymouth Meeting. The Festmeisters once again did a grand job. Yes, not having an antenna pretty much took the SW out of the SWL Fest. If nothing else works, I am happy to set up a HF listening trailer in the parking lot with a balloon antenna or two. It will be warm with electricity, internet, coffee and micro-brew. On the Sunday afternoon there could be a trip to a nearby state park to setup a beverage antenna for a more deeper listening session. The balloon antenna idea or stringing a longwire between the balconies in the hotel atrium are other viable ideas to explore, if the management will lets us...
