[sword-devel] another indexed search bug

2009-10-23 Thread Matthew Talbert
>From a Xiphos user:

"Lucene searching in Xiphos for the word 'see' in ESV gives 662 hits,
and does not find the last one in REV 22:4 'They will see his face,
and his name will be on their foreheads'. The indexed searches in
BPBible and BibleTime find it, so the module ESV should be OK."

I have checked this out, and it occurs as well with the example
cmdline search, so it isn't a problem with Xiphos. I've filed a bug
here http://crosswire.org/bugs/browse/API-120. It would be nice to get
this fixed before the next release.

Indexed search has been taking a beating lately...

2009-10-23 Thread Chris Little
They do have different standard abbreviations, but Teus must already
know that since there are many cases in the OT & NT where they are
different and all of the 66 Protestant canon works fine.

John/Chris/Greg,

Does that mean that USFM and OSIS have different standard abbreviations, or
is it just Bibledit at fault?

The observation wrt Tobit should in any case be reported to the Bibledit
developer[s].

Chris/Greg,

That's it - Bibledit outputs Tobit instead of Tob for all the IDs. I do a
search/replace on all of those.

Thanks

Re: [sword-devel] Android SWORD

2009-10-23 Thread David Haslam

Just found this via Google.

How to install fonts in Android

http://code.google.com/p/softkeyboard/wiki/InstallHebrewFonts
http://code.google.com/p/softkeyboard/wiki/InstallHebrewFonts

Rooting an unrooted device will revoke your warranty!

-

btw. I haven't tried Hebrew or Greek yet, though we know that Cyrillic has
extended coverage.
We also know Android does not support the Burmese script by default, unless
one can install a suitable font.

Since you might have other book abbreviation issues, here's our list of
OSIS abbreviations:
http://www.crosswire.org/wiki/OSIS_Book_Abbreviations

It may need some minor updating, but it should be correct for anything
using KJVA.
