Re: [sword-devel] Sword 1.6.x and various frontends

2011-05-25 Thread Konstantin Maslyuk
It is very informative to know that it is only 2 verses.

I would only add that NRSV:Rev.12.18-Rev.13.1 == KJV:Rev.13.1 afaik.

[sword-devel] HTML emails to the mailing list

2011-05-25 Thread Peter von Kaehne
Hi guys,

After staying silent on this matter for probably too long, can I ask that mails
to the mailing list are in text only, not HTML?

There is nothing added by sending HTML and it borks up a number of phones's
presentation of emails needlessly. Often I can on my phone only read an email
once someone else has answered in text only, quoting the preceding HTML post.

Thanks

Peter

[sword-devel] Error reading ulBuffNum

2011-05-25 Thread David Haslam
In Windows, many of the Sword utilities (for 1.6.2) often generate these
lines:

Error reading ulBuffNum

These are sent to stdout, rather than stderr, so they get included in any
piped output from the former. The message usually occurs in triplicate!

This is an issue of considerable standing - it's been around for ages, but
no-one seems to have come up with a fix yet.

It occurs when using tools like
diatheke
mod2osis
mod2imp
mod2vpl
etc.

Usually triggered by missing books, chapters or verses (in relation to the
defined v11n).

A search through the mailing list archive indicates that several users have
encountered the problem.
(not just me!).

Is anyone actually doing something about this?

(a) to ensure that these error messages are propelrly sent to stderr
(b) to fix the utils so that this particular error message is rarely sent

David

It also really messes up the formatting when trying to read the
archives online
