Re: [sword-devel] osis ref syntax for GkEsth & AddDan

2018-06-05 Thread John Dudeck

Karl,

I was referring to what was packaged with Xiphos 4.0.5 or 4.0.6a. I don't think I have my notes any more about what didn't work,
but that's a moot point now. I just tried the latest osis2mod.exe in Xiphos 4.1.0 and it seems to do what I expect. At least it shows
Segond as one of the versifications, which was missing before.

Thanks for all the good work.

They are surely as recent as anything can possibly be in Sword. You'll
have to detail what went wrong so that some sense can be made of how
they failed.

Re: [sword-devel] osis ref syntax for GkEsth & AddDan

2018-06-05 Thread John Dudeck

Great, this is what I needed to know.

In the past, ie. over a year ago, I found that the tools in Xiphos seemed to be either obsolete or something was wrong, and was
unable to use them. It is more important to me to have a reliable platform than to have the latest version. So I have been using
1.7.0-1 from the Crosswire site. On the other hand, I really do need the Louis Segond versification support.

Thanks again.

John

Re: [sword-devel] Module upload: GerLeoNA28

2018-06-05 Thread David Haslam
This module GerLeoNA28 is still version 1.0 so it does not appear to be an
update.

Please check to see if the script made a mistake.

This module is now version 1.1 so shows under updates in Xiphos.

Yes, they announced partial OT support this past weekend. I have
produced full OT+NT regular and interlinear modules but the necessary
tables to provide paragraph breaks, headings, and footnote placement
weren't provided for OT yet -- later this year, they say. So what I have
so far is Feature=NoParagraphs (VPL) of very basic regular and
interlinear texts, BSBdraft and BIBdraft. I've got more ideas about
better markup, notably that Strong's numbers can interfere with lemma
display (a Xiphos-specific concern), so I'm still in-progress on these.

An unexpected hassle: OT interlinear display suffers from the fact that
Hebrew is more compact than English, with the result that the English
content is space-constrained by the Hebrew, leading to illegible English
overlap. Still working out whether there's anything I can do about that.
At the moment, the content is marked up as original language as main
plus English as lemmatized interlinear, but I might simply turn that
around, which would make the problem go away.

I have been told by the same And Bible user that the Berean Bible OT is now
available and it does seem to be here
and here although I am not sure if
everything you require is there yet.
