atoi() is a special case of strtol(), which still doesn't understand
punctuation in any context.

Sword takes no interest in InstallSize. It's just another random textual
header that a frontend can request; what happens with it is entirely
that frontend's problem. Xiphos will choke on punctuated InstallSize, too.

Re: [sword-devel] InstallSize

Same answer. No punctuation. No other scripts (e.g. arabic). Just a sequence of
0-9.

JSword uses it in its install manager to build a progress meter.

BTW, In C the common routine is atoi, which stops on the first non-digit. So
your example would come back as 1.

Typo correction.

Both separators should have been keyed as a comma.

JSword would. It uses a parser to convert it from a string to an integer and it
doesn’t understand that format.

Would SWORD baulk if the InstallSize key contained commas as thousands
separators? e.g.

InstallSize=1,744.408

[sword-devel] Converting VPL format Bibles to USFM

2019-02-23 Thread David Haslam
FYI - several years ago -

I made simple TextPipe filter to convert a Bible that is in VPL format (single
text file) to USFM format (one file per book).

If such a task needs doing for anyone on the mailing list, please contact me.

The booknames are added as per English KJV but these can be readily replaced by
means of a bespoke external tab delimited text file.

Best regards,

David

Or choose the name for a new front-end app (tongue in cheek) like Xiphos ?
