Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Genete (genete) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Reopen an imported and reverted file produces a crash Initial Comment: Using svn r1816 Recipe: 1) Start synfigstudio and create a new empty fresh file. 2) Add a circle 3) Save the file and call it circle.sifz (I guess that the stuff and the file name is not relevant) 4) Close synfigstdudio. Just to be sure that again everything is clean. 5) Start synfigstudio and create a new empty fresh file (File "A"). 6) Import the just saved circle.sifz file 7) Go to the paste canvas layer of the imported file and export the canvas parameter. Call it "cir" 8) Go to the canvas panel and double click the cir child canvas. It would open in a new window. 9) In the just opened window edit the circle properties. Maybe modify its radius. 10) Close the "cir" window and see the effect of the modification in the file "A". 11) Now go to Recent files and open circle.sifz file (remember that it is saved) 12) Surprisingly it reflects the changed you have made to the exported one. Also the canvas panel shows a child canvas "cir" that doesn't exist in just opened file. That's because it is opening the exported one instead of the original one. (this is a bug). It should open the circle file as originally was saved because the file "A" still not saved yet. That's really the bug that produces the rest of them. 13) With the just reopened file "circle.sifz" selected (or what ever it is) go to caret menu and select file -> revert to saved. Reply yes when ask if sure. 14) The "One moment please" remains until you press ok to the Unable to open file "AnimaciĆ³n Synfig 1.sifz" (that is the automatic name for file "A"). Press OK. Command line says: I/O warning : failed to load external entity "AnimaciĆ³n Synfig 1.sifz" synfig(28631) [00:13:09] error: Standard Exception: Couldn't create parsing context. Anyway synfigstudio still alive. 15) Go to Recent files and reopen circle.sifz. It crash. Segment fault (core dumped). -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=757416&aid=1901753&group_id=144022 - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: SVG Compatibility Initial Comment: It would be great if Synfig could import and export SVG files... It is used by many other vector softwares. SVG became a standard and will become necessary for Synfig. It could also be a good thing to expand the Synfig community. New users could import their existing drawings, try the animation tools of synfig, and love it! -- Comment By: mrED (mred_bog) Date: 2008-02-25 14:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1315421 Originator: NO Synfig need native import and export for Inkscape Project - www.inkscape.org -- Comment By: Paul Wise (pabs3) Date: 2008-02-01 09:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=35028 Originator: NO There is a partial svg -> synfig converter on the site: http://synfig.org/Svg2synfig -- Comment By: Alan Horkan (horkana) Date: 2007-06-27 20:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=402612 Originator: NO redesigning parts of the Synfig file format to use other namespaces and reuse existing standards such as XMP might make it that little bit easier to convert to other formats. the very verbose synfig XML looks like it might be good when used with simple line based diff algorithm and versioning control system but it is still possible to include lots of line breaks and clear indentation even if a less verbose markup were to be borrowed from an existing format such as SVG. -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=757419&aid=1611098&group_id=144022 - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
