Anyone do a "Triple Crown" or "Grand Slam" in a single year? Back in the 80s I'm guessing it would have been Boston, New York and Fukuoka. Today it would be Boston, New York, London, Chicago. > Only by Superman. Boston/London and New York/Chicago come too closely > together, time-wise. It maybe be possible to get three in the same 12 months; say NY on fall, the Boston or London and Chicago the next fall, but with the $$ devoted to insuring past champions retuning at both NY and Chicago, it is doubtful anyone would ever try that approach. Also there are stipulations in the contracts of most races that prohibit running other marathons for some period before or after to insure a serious effort. bd -- Benji Durden [EMAIL PROTECTED]
