Middle-distance legend Wilson Kipketer will retire from athletics
after the 2006 European Championships in Sweden.

The 32-year-old, who switched nationality from Kenya to Denmark, won
world titles in 1995, 1997 and 1999.

But he is best known for bettering Briton Sebastian Coe's 800m world
mark and still holds the record of one minute 41.11 seconds set in
1997.

Kipketer was European champion in 2002 and won Olympic silver in 2000,
as well as a bronze medal at the 2004 Games.

t-and-f: Texas Relays and Arcadia "Live" Call

I'll have a 'live' call of the Texas Relays two mile tonight, Friday. Girls 
go off first at 8:30PM easteren time and the boys follow aout 15 minutes 
after.
Andy Biladeau, Daniel LaCava and Scott MacPherson are aiming for the Texas 
state record of 8:52.75.
On Saturday night beginning at 9PM eastern time, I'll have a 'live' call 
from the Arcadia meet.
First to go off will be the girls mile.
At 10PM eatern time. the invite 3200m girls.
I'll finish up with the boys' 3200m invite at midnight.
The play by play will be on flrunners.com's florida forum.
