t-and-f: Bret Schoolmeester Interview

2005-09-15 Thread Ricky Quintana
"I think the main thing [to which] I would attribute any sort of success
I've had is that I've been able to stay healthy and I've been able to stay
serious. So, durability and attention span are two things that are really
important in college. A lot of people get sidetracked by a lot of other
endeavors and there is nothing wrong with that, but this is the kind of
sport that takes years of commitment to get a lot better."

Re: t-and-f: Sibling relays???

If my memory is correct, in 1972 or so while at New York Tech, we ran a 4x400
against the Dyce brothers in Madison Square Garden, NYC. The meet was
probably the "Olympic Invitational" which ran for several years in the 70s. I
also cannot remember the 4th brothers name. We trained with them occasionally
when one or more where at Adelphi University, nearby our campus. I then
bumped into Bryon with an 800 at a meet 20 years later. They were all a class
act.

NY
competing as M56 400IH etc.
