t-and-f: "Call to axe Jones, Montgomery tour"
"ATHLETICS Australia should drop plans to bring world-beating sprinters Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery to Melbourne this summer because of their association with drug-tainted coach Charlie Francis, according to Nic Bideau." Shoes are staring to drop. Isn't Australia the land that was basically originally settled by criminals shipped from the continent? http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0,8659,5729757-23218,00.html Regards, Martin

this is the stupidest thing i've ever seen in my life... who cares who they train with... it's not like other athletes aren't working with coahces of athletes who've used drugs. RE: t-and-f: "Call to axe Jones, Montgomery tour"
Charlie Francis is an exceptionally talented coach. Anyone can see that by reading his books or even the posts on his website. Regardless of past drug use - It is simply academic that he is the man that can help Marion improve. Marion claims she has always been clean and I think that if this is the case and its stays that way that she will improve under Charlie Francis's coaching methodology. Don't judge the mans expertise without reading the website and his books. regards Steve Bennett www.oztrack.com AthleticsTraining.com -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Kebba Tolbert Sent: Tuesday, 24 December 2002 11:00 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: t-and-f: "Call to axe Jones, Montgomery tour" this is the stupidest thing i've ever seen in my life... who cares who they train with... it's not like other athletes aren't working with coahces of athletes who've used drugs. I'd say there's not another coach anywhere in the western hemisphere with remotely the reputation (deserved or undeserved) of Francis. Yet there are several coaches with excellent credentials for the bio-mechanical analysis that MJ says she's looking for. Why pick one with such a bad rap? RT

If you were in her shoes, wouldn't you want to work with the absolute best? When you're chasing some of the toughest records in the sport, a merely excellent coach may not be enough to get there. Would that be the same Athletics Australia that tried to hire Eckard (?) Arbeit as national coach a few years back, only to renege when his DDR ties were revealed? gh > From: "Martin J.
