t-and-f: Famous (GBTC) people who have run track?

2001-12-13 Thread Tom Derderian

Famous Author Sebastian Junger of the Perfect Storm used to be a member of
Greater Boston Track Club. He ran 800 meters. Like 2 minutes maybe a bit
under. I have been meaning to look it up.

So was famous playwrite Israel Horovitz.

Seb must have run significantly faster than 2:00 as he is still the school record
holder for 1500 meters at Wesleyan in the 3:50 range. Seb also ran a 2:22 marathon.
He had some pretty severe leg injuries in accidents and does not run as much as he
would like.

I mentioned earlier to one member on the list that Seb Junger was the New
Intercollegiate Champion at 1500 and 5K outdoors his senior year at Wesleyan.
I'm sure he placed in the Div.III Nationals, just not sure of the times.
