t-and-f: Stay home for Paris World Champs

2003-03-27 Thread Rich Harrington

An add in TF News reminded me of something... sorry GH.

My hope is that everyone here boycotts the Worlds in Paris, in addition to
any other French products, until Chirac and his socialist cronies get out of
town...
I'll enjoy watching the athletes on TV.

BTW - I've also cancelled a trip to Montreal this summer, after hearing
their fans boo the Star Spangled Banner at a Canadiens game.

'Nuff said.

Went to Edmonton in '01, and I had a teriffic time.
I'm sure I'll go again. Sadly, there are other places I'd rather spend my
money right now...

Thanks,
RH

no need to apologize to me, but if you were truly thinking of going and have
now changed your mind, I think you should apologize to yourself. As my
mother would say, this is a classic case of cutting off your nose to spite
your face.

If you're a member of this list, obviously track is a very central part of
your life. Don't know if you've ever been to a World Champs, but track just
doesn't get any better than that. To allow the actions of a few members of
the booboisie to steal that from you means they win.

Boycott whatever French products you want, but why deprive yourself of
something so wonderful, to so little effect. The U.S. team will welcome your
presence in Stade de France.

ps--if some booing of the national anthem is the worst thing that befalls
the U.S. in coming months we'll truly be living in a blessed nation.
