Re: [Tagging] Duplication of POI-data

If you want to render a map with labels that way why not render the name from the aeroway=aerodrome where the one of the aeroway=terminal is? Agreed. Another contributing aspects to this issue could be that editors give nice icons to nodes, but not areas, making the existence or relevance of a large area less obvious to new mappers. As far as relations it doesn't seem really necessary but it wouldn't hurt either. -- AJ Ashton ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging
Re: [Tagging] Feature Proposal - RFC - highway=escape_lane
As a data consumer, +1 to the idea of highway=service, service=escape_lane. This combo is enough information to avoid any confusion about what the purpose of the way is, while also fitting with existing common data/render schemes. To be absolutely safe with regard to routing, an appropriate dissuasive access tag could be added. -- AJ Ashton ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging
Re: [Tagging] Advice clarification of the railway tracks=* tag required.

It can be difficult, or at least computationally expensive, to associate parallel lines with each other without some kind of helpful clue like a relation. -- AJ Ashton ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging
Re: [Tagging] How to tag a trailer_park ?

The tag tourism=camp_site seems to be not quite correct IMHO. tourism=camp_site with the caravans=yes is potentially appropriate. There is also tourism=caravan_site which might be closer to what you want. However for semi-permanent mobile homes I might suggest landuse=residential is more appropriate with some kind of additional tag indicating the type of residences that are there. I'm not sure if there are any existing conventions for that. -- AJ Ashton ___ Tagging mailing list Tagging@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tagging
