Hi all, My problem seems to be a problem with my database. If I write directly in the JSP the euro symbol, there is no problem, but if I get it from the mysql database the ? appears :( So no problem with the tag lib ! Hello everybody ! I use the c:out jstl tag in a jsp page, when I put a Euro character (EUR), the result is '?' Somebody can help me ?!! Thanks !! Stéphane

I try to put : %@ page contentType=text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 % But nothing changes. Hi Thomas, There is no problem with fonts, when I read the source of the generated html page, I can see the ? character in place of euro symbol. When I put directly the euro symbol in the HTML, the output is correct. Because such a translation isn't general-purpose or based on the rules

You should be able to use the String Taglib or the Regexp Taglib.
The str:replace tag is not easy to use : in the replace propertie the \n
is not understood :(( You have to put in this propetie a real new line,
so the code is not really readable :(
For instance :

with=BR/c:out
value=${requestScope[theKey].address1}//str:replace
...
