Re: [Tails-dev] DeepOnion project

2018-05-02 Thread Alexandre Trottier
While I don't know particularly much about deeponion other than what I've
read was that tongue in cheek? They are absolutely a thing. Tails includes
electrum (or at least it did the last time I used it) labelling all crypto
currencies a pyramid scheme is a pretty bold statement.

If anything it would be beneficial to the purpose of tails. How are
dissidents in countries like Iran or Syria supposed to get rewarded for
particular work without going through government channels that those
oppressive regimes would be able to monitor?

Maybe not DeepOnion but to me it makes sense for tails to integrate with an
anonymous cryptocurrency whether that's DeepOnion, Monero or what have you.

Re: [Tails-dev] Maintaining I2P

2017-03-21 Thread Alexandre Trottier
I'll spend the next 1-2 weeks getting familiar with the package maintenance
process.

Any and all information/documentation would be great.
Thanks!

In order to maintain I2P do all I need to do is build binaries from source
install onto a test distribution and make sure it works.

[Tails-dev] Maintaining I2P

2017-03-10 Thread Alexandre Trottier
Hello,

I'm interested in maintaining I2P for future releases of tails.
I'm profficient at python and bash, and do Sys Admin work as a job so I
feel like this is something that I could do.

I have never had to maintain a package for a distribution before so I'm not
sure where to start.

If anyone could provide some directions (white papers, pdfs, web sites,
etc...) or describe the overall process it would be greatly appreciated.
