Re: [Tails-dev] Tails Logo Contest Submission
Christopher Huizar: Hello, Hello Christopher, Thanks a lot for your proposal! I added it to the rest of proposals we received for the contest: https://tails.boum.org/blueprint/logo/#index28h1 I am including a link to my submissions for the Tails logo design contest. You will find a master logo, logo variations, a banner and several splash page variations. I have included both SVG and PDF formats. I have original Adobe Illustrator files if those are needed. I can save/export any other format if needed. If there are any issues opening the files please let me know. Or if you would like to see specific variations like color or size, please let me know. Cool, we'll keep you in touch. Next week the main Tails contributors will proceed to voting and then we'll definitely need your help again if your proposal is chosen. I will email you if I complete additional complimentary materials. Files can be found at: http://onegreatthing.com/tails/ The font used was from Debian.org, and is called Weathered Solid BRK. This works, thanks. Can you also please choose one of those three licenses for your work? Those are the strongest ones to be qualified as free artwork, and be compatible with both the GPL and the Debian Free Software Guidelines: - GPL https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html - Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ - CCO (Public Domain) https://creativecommons.org/choose/zero/ -- sajolida signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ Tails-dev mailing list Tails-dev@boum.org https://mailman.boum.org/listinfo/tails-dev To unsubscribe from this list, send an empty email to tails-dev-unsubscr...@boum.org.

Re: [Tails-dev] Tails Logo Contest
Thanks for the other e-mail about the licenses. I really had no idea what license to use. I chose to license this work under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/). I'm updating the README with this information. John COSTA RICA: Hello, Hello! I recently sent you an email via MailTor, but the service does not work now, so not sure if you got it, so sent again here to be sure. I have been discovering your Tails logo contest a few days ago only, so I did not have much time to come with something more elaborated, but here are samples so that you get the idea. Took into account your tips: coming with something original yet reminding its origin: swirl of Debian in cat's body, cat's body also reminds onion's shape as well as his 3 tails..., etc. There are 55 logos and banners, like this : http://pixs.ru/showimage/Tails042jp_1856699_11398699.jpg Thanks for your proposal! I added to the contest: https://tails.boum.org/blueprint/logo/#index14h1 no time to upload them one by one, you can get them safely (even through Tor, no javascript, etc.) here http://upfile.mobi/422737 That works. I could possibly rework on that, but don't have much free time for the moment (and not often online, so be patient if ever you need a reply, thanks). Can you clarify the follow points: 1. What font are you using? What is its license? 2. Do you have a SVG source for your work? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svg 3. Re: [Tails-dev] Tails Logo Contest Entry
Jesse McKay: Hi, Hi, Below is a direct link to my Tails logo entry. http://s12.postimg.org/k4na2rv0d/Tails_maze.jpg Thanks a lot for your proposal. I've produced three versions of the logo, presented together so that you are more easily able to compare them to each other. Note the subtle differences in the treatment of the letters a and s; he different versions of the inbound and outbound data symbology; and the placement of the dots along the outside edge of the maze: Cool, so I added the three versions to the contest. I think we don't need to decide now on one version or the other, but can refine later on if you concept is chosen. See: https://tails.boum.org/blueprint/logo/#index10h1 Notes: * My goal was to obscure the word Tails so that, at first glance, the logo hides within the maze-like blocks. * If chosen, I will gladly produce the additional materials noted on your website at https://tails.boum.org/news/logo_contest/index.en.html Since you create it using Illustrator I guess that it will be straightforward to provide us with an SVG version on request. * If requested, I can pull together another few samples that mix and match elements of the three versions * My approach to logo design is to always start with grayscale. If chosen, I will produce some color options. That would work too. * The logo, as designed, is 100% vectored within Adobe Illustrator, and does not use any fonts. If requested, I can produce a version that includes a tagline. IMHO: a logo should stand apart from a tagline. That said, there will be times when a tagline is used. Therefore, if chosen, I will be glad a tag lined version. Yes, that's why have a tagline on the logo is not part of our requirements. If you'd like to discuss the design, I can be found on Skype as spandata. We don't use Skype :) -- sajolida signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ Tails-dev mailing list Tails-dev@boum.org https://mailman.boum.org/listinfo/tails-dev To unsubscribe from this list, send an empty email to tails-dev-unsubscr...@boum.org.
