Actually the mechincal gorilla was stolen from out in front about ten years
ago. The owners even put up a no questions asked reward but no luck. I read
an article in Now Magazine where the owner said it took a lot of the joy
out of operating at that location. That coupled with rising rent prompted
the move north.

My last purchase there was over 5 years ago. A five foot usb printer cable
$3.00. When I couldnt find it browsing on my own, the guy at the desk
walked me right to it. Nice friendly people and it was sad to see them go
like that

Yes. The owners retired and sold up.

Graham Greene, former manager, has kept some of it going at SteamLabs
and the Science Centre:

Russell,

People can also check out A1 Electronic Parts. They are in an industrial
unit at 196 North Queen St., Toronto, Ontario, M9C 4Y1, Tel: (416) 255-0343.
Their website is http://www.a1parts.com. I understand they bought a lot of
Active Surplus' stock. They are a good source of Arduino boards and Raspberry
Pis.

Hey Giles,

I have a spare 12V power supply with barell connector for my external hard
drive I can lent it to you.

If you want to adopt your existing 19v power supply you can get a DC-to-DC
buck converter with regulator that takes anything above 12V and converts it
to 5v-12v. I think they cost around $3 on aliexpress, but this involves
some soldering.

Alex.

Good thought, but sadly, no. They died the death three or four years ago
(maybe longer - I find time compresses in my memory as I get older). Rents

If you can't find someone with a donation, you can probably find the one
you are looking for at Above All Electronics on Bloor St for 5$ or so. I

so Steve said, if not bring it back for exchange or refund.

a very regular customer for a long time so YMMV. Having said that, Steve is
