YesSiam! How bout that for emphasis . Don't know if I did that
right, but you get the idea.

I have done as another lister has suggested by making that all settings
are set to global, and saving within the sets, and then set it all with
all options closed in the settings dialog box of WE, and I'll see if
that doesn't work. So far, so good. Knock on wood, or what passes for it

If this doesn't ultimately get permanently resolved, I think I will end

Ever since I first installed Window-Eyes 9.1 on this new Dell machine

to get keys to speak with characters to stick. At times it seems as if I
have this problem licked, but the next day or hour, for that matter, the

and once again turn on the setting, make damn sure I have the setting at
global, with global scope toggle on as well, press ctrl+s to save, and
all of that, I can think of nothing more to do, it still wont stay set.

I know that was a sentence full, but I am just about at my whits end
trying to figure this one out.

I have followed these instructions to a tee, I don't even no how many
times by now, and still no everlasting joy.

Surely there must be an answer, but it eludes me.

I should use an exclamation point with each sentence uttered here, but
I'll spare all of you that. I wont even use all caps , though I
think it really might be appropriate in this case.

But, can somebody please, please, help! This really can't be that tough
of a nut to crack.

I'm using WE for Office, so can't call the boys at AI Squared. I'm not
complaining, mind you, but dem, unfortunately, is the facts of life.

OK, nuff said, but if someone could please offer some helpful advice, or
wise counsel, it would be ever so greatly appreciated,

Hey guys,
Anyone on here running miranda ng? here's my problem. It doesn't
appear that the program is running in the system tray. I am kind of
stuck. I am going to my processes, under windows 7, and i show
miranda.exe is running, but when i bring up my task tray it doesn't
appear to be there.
To add insult to injury, control shift A literally does nothing, all it
says ismiranda g 2 of 77 when i am at my desktop and i have no clue to
see where this hotkey is defined. I am thinking it's a key conflict,
cause to bring up the main window is control shift A, right?
Any help would be appreciated.

All of them.

A kind lister suggested that I close all settings in WE the settings
menu and press "s" to save, then press ctrl+s and see if that didn't
work, and so far, it has.

One thing I tried that didn't work was to save the global setting in the
Default set file, along with all other such files, and that might work
as well, but that didn't do it either, so I'm hoping that this is really
the ticket. It sounds like a logical solution to me, but guess we'll
see, wont we .

If you have any suggestions of your own, please pass them along.

If you have a good backup service wanting it for my nas, but don't need to

Microsoft Office would be asked to pay a small fee to obtain support. Regards,

Dear list,

I have a fully licenced version of Window-Eyes 9.2.1 running on my PC.

I am considring migrating to Windows 10 as it looks as if the users on this
list are now on it without too much incident.

I have two questions:

How do I download and not re-install a current version of the software. I
would like this just in case I have any issues when on Windows 10?

Does the migration from Windows 7 to Windows 10 work effectively? While I
have read the literature about it there may have been some quirks that
actual use bought to light.

Many thanks in advance.

John,

Please give us a call when our office opens in a couple hours and we can
provide you with a link for your Window-Eyes 9.2 package.

Speaking from a support stance, Windows 7 to 10 migrations are mostly positive.
If you have the time, I recommend not keeping apps and settings to minimize any
potential upgrade problems.

Remember that Microsoft can help you upgrade if you need help. In North
America, they can be reached at (800) 936-5900.

Regards,
Steve

Re: miranda ng questions

2015-11-19 Thread Steve Clower via Talk
I believe the defaults are Control-Shift-A to show or hide the main window, and
Control-Shift-I to bring up received IMs. Like Jim I changed these years ago.
The audio tutorial I recorded (which is on the GW Micro page) walks you through
everything. It's a bit over 5 years old, but little, if anything, has changed.

Re: installing wineyes on a windows 7 machine

2015-11-19 Thread Alan Paganelli via Talk
On my windows 7 laptop it's called account user control. It asks you if you
want to install and then it names the program. For example, Window Eyes. The
default button is yes. You can disable this in settings. On the face of it,
you may wish to turn it off. On the other hand, when some unknown program
wants to install and you have no clue what it is, you can press N for no and
the program won't install. It's a mixed blessing. Depending on your anti
virus software, it may check the program before you even know it's there.
Personally, I leave both turned on.

I don't know anything about the cloud drive, but you're right, the app is
totally inaccessible. I couldn't access any music from it at all. Sorry,I'm
notin the best of moods now,as I have found the Kindle for PC app totally
inaccessible, and Amazon believes my computer is at fault. The only thing
is, I'm not having problems with other programs. Also, when I call, the rep
doesn't seem to have any information on my previous conversations with
customer service. Thus, I give their customer service poor marks on this
one. I didn't reply to the list because I know other members have commented

Hi, just curious if anyone has tried amazon cloud drive, you can store
everything unlimited for $60 a year. I can't seem to get anyware with the
app, but the web seems to work well, but only been working on it for an hour
or so.

If you have a good backup service wanting it for my nas, but don't need to
pay more then $60/year I'd love to hear about it if it works well with
window-eyes.

Re: anyone tried amazon cloud drive

2015-11-19 Thread Steve Clower via Talk
The last time I looked at it, Cloud Drive was designed with Adobe Air, which
has absolutely 0 accessibility. I have written to them to inquire about either
an API or rewritten GUI, but all such requests have gone unanswered.

While not as inexpensive as Amazon, Dropbox and Google Drive work beautifully
both on the desktop and mobile platforms. OneDrive also isn't bad, but its
strange dependence on the web for accessing shared folders makes it impractical
for my needs. I'm also told that Box and Opendrive work well.

Hey guys,
I am having a problem with thunderbird that i have never experience
before. I'll be in a new message window, typing a message, and will
arrow up and i will hear nothing in my message. I'll hit the up arrow
probably 20 times, and it appears to be going out of focus. The only
way to bring it back for the short term, minimize everything and go back
to the thunderbird window. This is unacceptable. Has anyone else
experienced this? It just appears to be loosing focus and when i am
typing a message i can't do anything, no editing, nothing, until i
minimize everything, then alt tab back to thunderbird. I am running we
9.2, on a win 7 machine.
Any ideas?

Oh patient listers,

If this doesn't ultimately get permanently resolved, I think I will end
up pulling what is left of my hair completely out!

Ever since I first installed Window-Eyes 9.1 on this new Dell machine
back in April, (I am presently using 9.2), I have been absolutely unable
to get keys to speak with characters to stick. At times it seems as if I
have this problem licked, but the next day or hour, for that matter, the
setting will become changed, and I go back to the associated set file,
and once again turn on the setting, make damn sure I have the setting at
global, with global scope toggle on as well, press ctrl+s to save, and
all of that, I can think of nothing more to do, it still wont stay set.

RE: anyone tried amazon cloud drive

2015-11-19 Thread Jim Ruby via Talk
Hi, I was able to get the app to work, but it is tricky to login. I was able
to hit the 8 key to move the mouse to the top, once I heard a beep I was
able to hit tab then I landed in the login field and tab again to the
password field and press enter to get started. There is no speech other then
hearing what you type if you have echo charactors on. This part is hit and
miss.

I'm able to use the app a bit, so far I have found where you can choose a
folder to upload so I've started a backup folder.

This is as far as I have got right now. I'll work more on this later tonight
or on Friday. Need a rest from the computer.

Internet Explorer

2015-11-19 Thread L. Urie via Talk
Hello,

I'm using Vista Home Premium with Window-Eyes 7.5.1 and my browser is IE 9.

More and more often when I go to web sites, it tells me that I'm using an out
of date browser and that I should upgrade. Can I do this with the version of
Window-Eyes I'm currently running? I realise that I'm using an older version of
WE, however, my budget doesn't permit me to do anything about that at this
time. Is there another browser I could use that would work better?

Thanks

RE: This is really driving me to distraction

2015-11-19 Thread via Talk
Larry,

Is this happening for just one set file, or for all of them?

Ai Squared has discounted support plans available as Pam mentioned but you
can also pay for a single support incident if that is your preference.

You can call them, but I think you have to pay something. From what I
remember, you get to have 12 calls a year, I think, for a certain price.
But it seems that you are having such a problem that, if they can help you,
it might not matter, if they can help you settle it. Pam.

Larry
