ebooks with window eyes

2016-05-10 Thread crw9599 via Talk
Hello. I was wondering has anyone bought any book from eBooks.com and
used adobe digital editions to access the book and does it work well
with window eyes? I would like to buy some books which talk about the
Woodstock festival which must of been quite amazing even back in 1969. I
just want to make sure no matter what book I buy from the website that
every book will be accessible when I read and use adobe digital
editions. I do have an account with them, so guess before I do anything
would I have to authorize the computer so the program can access the
books? Also was wondering if blio will work with window eyes since I did
the demo a few years ago the books read well in blio. If anyone could
give me some pointers to get everything up and running that would be
excellent.

RE: outlook and klunk

2016-05-10 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Don,

In addition to Charlie Short's enquiries, can you go into greater detail as
to the nature of the clunk?
For example, where is it coming from, the speaker or, more serious, your
hardware?

Thanks,

Rod

Subject: outlook and klunk

Hi Folks:

Running windows 7 and win eyes 9.4

Ever since I installed we 9.4, I am having all kinds of problems with
outlook and hearing a klunk when starting my computer

Chris said to Shut down outlook, shutdown win eyes, then restart win eyes.

This sounds unreasonable, , what is the problem, I should not have to do
this without a reason.

Also the spell checking is not normal

When I try to send the email, I hear ignore some times and then all kinds of
weird commandsand the spell cheker is not working.

Prior to 9.4, spell chekcer worked fine, it found the mispelled word, and
the correct word and choice to ignore.

Has this to do with windows enhanced or outlook enhanced or it looks like to
me 9.4 as all worked fine before the instal of 9.4

Is the klunk sound referring to an app trying to install or not to install.

All other computer functions work with no problem

Thanks

Don

You might ask your friend which set file is associated with the file list.
Mine is default.set and tracks properly.

My friend is using a desktop PC with WE, suddenly, when trying to edit the
name of a file using F2, the contents will only speak if she presses the
down arrow. She can't arrow through the title to make changes or use the
backspace to tell what has been done. Pressing backspace, though, does erase
the appropriate number of characters. The edit box has already been
maximized. Thanks.

Hi Mike,

Glad you're now in the Window-Eyes community.
Not only is Window-Eyes a great screen reader, but I think you'll find the
members of this community are very good-natured.
I've found this in comparison to other communities, and so it's my bias, and
so I own it. Smile

RE: Hello group, it's late, but I am just winding it up for the day. Glad to be here.

2016-05-10 Thread Sky Mundell via Talk
Hi Michael, and welcome to the Window-Eyes list. My name is Sky, and I too
used JAWS from almost beginning, before making the switch to Window-Eyes in
2007. I am Window-Eyes certified, which means I have a certification to
train in that screen reader and did just that with an organisation a couple
of months ago. I have been doing a lot of promotion of Window-Eyes behind
the seens thanks to it being free with Office 2010 and up. Window-Eyes has
two JAWS layouts. It has a layout called zoomtext Fusion layout, which uses
the standard keys, So, if your used to JAWS, this layout would use all of
the JAWS standard keys, including Insert T for title bar, insert+down arro
for say all, insert f7 for links. Anoter JAWS transition tool you might find
helpful is insert key layout, which is accessed using control+alt+0. This
will allow you to use Window-Eyes in JAWS mode. I hope this helps, and
again, welcome to the list!
