Ralph, the document you referred to in your post only deals with Outlook
2010/2013! I did read it; the suggestion contained therein DOES NOT match
what Outlook 2007 has to offer. Could I be missing something? Much thanks
for straightening me out!

Re: Kronos Time system access

2016-06-24 Thread Lloyd Rasmussen via Talk
At the Library of Congress we are using Chronos Web-TA. I think we are at
version 3.8. But I just read today that we are switching to version 4.2 in a
month, with a lot of cool features. I hope we can still use it. I'll believe
it when I see it.
Good luck on getting your HTML access re-established. Hopefully this was
just an oversight in the IT department and not something more systemic.

Hoping those 1 or 2 of you out there using Kronos Time keeper at your
company will see this. We've talked about access in the past to this time
card system with WE. Until now, I've had access to a link into Kronos that
provided an HTML based version of the time card. All the rest of my
colleague go into a Java based version that will not read at all with WE.
Last weekend, Kronos did an update to our system and now my URL for the HTML
version will not work. I'm working through internal channels to find out if
a new link to this HTML version still exists. Are any of you experiencing
something similar? Maybe the upgrade was only done for my company's
instance of the software, but I'm trying to arm myself with any other user

a copy dialog should pop up. Otherwise you can open the context menu and
press L for Copy link location. Then paste it into the new message.

To create a link it depends where you want to get the link. If it's for
a site you're on in IE you can press Alt-D for the address bar and
Control-C to copy because it will already be selected. Do the same in FF
but Home and Shift-End to select it and then Control-C.

If you're on a link open the context menu and press T for Copy shortcut

Their comboboxes and pull-downs are a mess. I can’t get them to reliably expand

Re: Strange problen with we and windows live mail?

2016-06-24 Thread net bat via Talk

its just a wlm bug. but microsoft is not supporting wlm anymore.
they want everyone on the win 10 mail app, which is still not very accessible.
use the w e window maximizer app.
this works.
and i figured out if you press the hot keys insert alt space bar you can
exclude windows you don't want maximized. except for the shut down screen.
this one closes before it can be excluded and w e will say the window is no
longer valid.

Yes, I'm using windows 10.

Here's what I don't understand, when I reply to my first message after

Hi Russ,

Okay, in that case, when you open the second message, open the WE control
panel and check if the same set file is associated as had been for the
window when the first message was open.
I'm trying to figure out if, somehow, either the message windows are
different or WE is not picking up the correct set file.
Usually, even simply opening the WE control panel can jog WE to open the
correct set file.
If not, then perhaps the set file associated with the first message window
needs to be manually associated to the second message window.

Hi.
I'm not familiar with Edge, but I think that if you open I.E., it will ask you
if you want it to be your default browser. If so, just hit Alt y. dThat's how
mine acts.

RE: Strange problen with we and windows live mail?

2016-06-24 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Russ,

I don't think the window stays maximized, and perhaps you can check its
maximized state by opening the window's control menu to ascertain this.
If it is not remaining maximized, then my guess is that Windows itself is
restoring it in order to maintain the visibility of all relevant windows so
that the user is made aware of the status of all windows they may wish to
know about.
For example, when email is received, the user would want the notification
area to alert them, and this is flashed in this instance.
If this is the case, then, apart from using a utility of some kind to
maximize windows, there's not much that can be done.

Hth,

Rod

Tom,

Thanks for that clear and concise statement of the issue. Now that I
know that WE is just doing its job by reporting this window. At this
point, I will cease my grousing on the matter.

Hi.
I'm not familiar with Edge, but I think that if you open I.E., it will ask you
if you want it to be your default browser. If so, just hit Alt y. dThat's how
mine acts.

2016-06-24 Thread net bat via Talk
knope, that didn't do anything. but if you use the window maximizer app it will
maximize all windows that can be maximized.
i don't know how to exclude programs. it maximizes firefox and pressing f11 has
to be pressed with every web page change if i want to open the firefox pull
down menus.

I have good luck with WLM. The one thing I notice is, in order to read what
I write in the text of an email, I go to the subject line and then back into
the text. Then I can read what I write.

There has been a few times where I couldn't read what I write. I also
couldn't read the text so I rebooted the computer and then everything worked
find.

Not everyone seem's to have it, but there has been some issues with being
able to read what you are writing in a reply, And, the backspace not
speaking at times. I'm pretty sure part of it is a focus issue in Windows
it's self. I don't know about Windows 7 although. In windows 8 and 10 there
have been some oddities with WLM. LOL

So I am now experiencing the IE portion of this (actually I am not sure
what I am experiencing). I'm on the website
http://airchexx.com/
and I wanted to return to the site's home page. First I back spaced,
and when that didn't work, I pressed alt-left arrow. When that didn't
work, I refreshed the page (f-5) and WE went silent, not completely.
When I tabbed, and arrowed, WE was silent, but when I did control home
andpage up, WE said bottom and top. Browse Mode would turn on and off,
and when I went to the top of the page the Windows-blong sound would be
heard. WE's silence was replaced with "not a valid key pressed." I
restarted WE but the "not avalid key pressed" was still there. Fast
forward maybe an hour (not really sure when I checked again) but the
page was somewhat back to normal, if I turned off Browse Mode. However,
when I turned it back on, I still heard "not a valid key pressed." Hmm,
now Browse mode will not turn off.

Sorry for the lengthy post; I just wanted to pprovide as much info as I
could. BTW, if I go to my desktop, I generally can open internet
explorer in another window with no problem.

P.S. I just restarted WE and now everything on that site is as it should be.

While this is happening (and it's currently happening [right in the
middle of an Al Green record]), the tab and arrow keys say nothing.
Browse Mode does seem to turn on and off but no information is revealed.
