Re: Trouble with OCR on a .pdf file
Actually, I'm quite sure it is a scanned image, because I can hear no indication that any text is being displayed. When I arrow up or down I only hear top and bottom. I never try scanning an already readable document, because it would be pointless, plus most of the time I end up with errors that wouldn't have shown up in the original. I did some of this, but not much, with Openbook. I no longer have OB on my system, haven' t yet gotten around to upgrading. Firefox and Web Visum
I am using Firefox 47 with WE 9.4 with Windows 7 64-bit Pro. Can anyone use Web Visum any more? Firefox prevents the installation of the add-on so I attempt to press the Allow button. Window-Eyes does not read it properly. I have no idea whether the stupid thing actually downloads. I do know that Web Visum is not working and is not in the Tools menu. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Furthermore, when I try to open about:config to perform the hack suggested by a lister in the past, the program stops responding. I have written the goons at Web Visum, but they have not written back. I’m sure they believe that it is a firefox problem, which it probably is.Please help. ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. I never saw the info posted here and thought someone might benefit. The prices are heavily discounted by as much as 90% off. That isn't a typo. The promotions are available for anyone who will be in physical attendance in Minneapolis or Orlando. Again, you have to be at one of these events to take advantage of the special offer. If you or someone you know is considering investing in ZoomText Fusion, ZoomText Magnifier/Reader or ZoomText Mac, now would be the time. Prices are as follows: ZoomText Magnifier/Reader - $75 ZoomText Magnifier/Reader with Enhanced Support Plan - $125 ZoomText Fusion - $100 ZoomText Fusion with Enhanced Support Plan - $175 ZoomText Mac - $100 Best, Marc ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. Re: some of this is your own fault/ Re: Annoying Window Technical ServiceCalls from India
i have mine on 24/7. i did get 3 calls in the past but they stopped. they are mainly getting info from public records such as phone number and address. sites like paypal are secure so its not as likely that there getting info from that. cell phone numbers are roomered to be going public soon as well. - Original Message - From: "net bat via Talk" To: ; "Window-Eyes Discussion List" Sent: Monday, June 27, 2016 11:04 PM Subject: some of this is your own fault/ Re: Annoying Window Technical ServiceCalls from India stop useing your real name for your user name when you create an email account, facebook, twitter etc. all they need is your real name from emails, facebook twitter etc. which most people do. they are being hacked several times per year but usually don't tell you about it. then do a reverse phone number lookup from many on line databases. there are hackers that compile hundreds of thousands of names and phone numbers from public records and sell them to these callers and fishing emails. they get thousands of dollars per month when they sell other hackers these lists. and have you noticed how paypal uses your full name every month when they send you a link to your monthly statement? how secure is this? if you also use your full name on your paypal account they would only have to guess your password if they don't have it already from facebook or twitter because most people use one password for everything. the most popular password people use is password, or 1 2 3 4 5 etc. -Original Message- From: Jim via Talk Sent: Monday, June 27, 2016 5:15 PM To: Chris Skarstad ; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: Annoying Window Technical Service Calls from India or where ever Hi THERE! So far, every call, which are probably two or three dozen by now, have all been from people with thick accents from some far away place. I knew these guys were up to no good, but I would like to get rid of them calling me. Thought when I change systems, I would sease getting these calls. Not so. I have Software to rid my system of viruses and Malware, but still these folks keep calling. Anyone here find a solution to stop these people from calling? I have started to play along to see what they will do. Even I need entertainment. But, I am getting bored and they amazingly seem to really get upset when they find out I've been playing them along.totally halairious at times, but now I really just need to stop the calls. Anyone have good advice? Grumpy Dave -- Dave ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
