RE: jump to a unvisited link

2016-08-23 Thread Van Lant, Robin via Talk
I wonder about how to define a hotkey for this. Haven't tried it, but I've
wanted a next unvisited link hotkey before. Anyone tried to define U or such
to so this?

Hi Olusegun,

A minor correction, if you would permit, my friend. smile What was asked is how
to jump to the previous or next unvisited link.
The keystrokes you offered navigate to the next or previous link, irrespective
of whether it was visited or not.
The enquiry which was made surrounded the matter of whether there was a hot key
to allow one to jump to links on a given page which had previously not been
visited.
Thus far, Window-Eyes does not have such a hot key.

Respectfully,

Rod

And yes, it has always had one: Press the "l" key to skip from one link to
another when scrolling from the top to the bottom; the Shift-L keystroke does
the reverse. If the link has been visited previously, use the letter "v" key
if you are going from the top to the bottom of the screen, the Shift-V
keystrokedoes the reverse!

Sincerely,
Olusegun

RE: Mouse keys?

2016-08-23 Thread Van Lant, Robin via Talk
Reva,
I get the dings if I am trying to use the mouse pointer on my desktop view, but
if I'm in Outlook or another program it seems to work. I'm in your boat of
trying to get more adept with the mouse keys as I lose more visions, but I do
not use magnification. What programs are you trying to use the mouse keys in?
Might be able to help you see if it's something you can fix by starting with
one or two of the things you are trying to accomplish or give you other ideas.

Ok, have a question. I've been trying to not use the physical mouse as much
since at ginormous magnification it's more time consuming. I'm using zt fusion
with we key layout but ran into this when i was using zt and we together as
seperate products. When i try using the mouse keys, most of the time it just
dings at me. Um, what am i doing wrong?

RE: question re ms excell

2016-08-23 Thread Marc Solomon via Talk
Robin's suggestion is a good one. But, I have discovered a keyboard strategy
for renaming the current Excel sheet that does not require use of the Mouse.
Here are the steps:
1. Navigate to the sheet you want to rename with Control-Page Up or
Control-Page Down
2. Activate the Home tab in the Ribbon with Alt-H
3. Activate the Format button to open its pull down menu with O
4. Select Rename from the pull down menu with R (or Down Arrow to Rename and
press Enter)
5. Your focus will move to the sheet's name edit field and the current name
will be selected. Type in the new name (it will overwrite the current name) and
press Enter.
Best,
Marc

I haven't found how to do this in the menus or with a keyboard shortcut, but
here's what I have found can work.
1. Use Control Shift F to open the Window Eyes find dialog box, then type in
the name of the sheet (for example "Sheet1" without the quotes) and hit enter.
The mouse will route to the correct sheet tab along the bottom of the Excel
window.
2. Right mouse click with either the physical mouse or by hitting the right
click button on the mouse navigation keys on the numpad - it's the asterisk key
or the key just above the 9 on the numpad. Hitting the the application context
key or Shift F10 does not work because that opens the context menu for where
the cursor is. A menu will open once you mouse click.
3. Rename is one of the options on the menu. Hit that option, then the text of
the current sheet name will be pre-selected, so just starting to type will
overwrite the current name. Hit enter when done.
