Re: Finding Errors When Filling in an Online Form

2016-09-29 Thread David via Talk
All I can say, is that I wish there was a way to do this. I too, have
found myself in the situation you describe. Good thing for you, you
could trace down which field it was. Sometimes, you get a form with
numerous fields, and just an error saying "something is wrong", and will
you please correct the red fields. Sure, just tell me which field it is! :)

Far as I know, there is no good way to do this in WE. And you are not
the first one asking for the feature. Let's hope the staff will take
this on, when developing the next upgrade.

Finding Errors When Filling in an Online Form

2016-09-29 Thread Barbara via Talk
Hi Everyone,

I am hoping someone may have an idea on how to find errors when filling out
an online form. I have Windows 7, WE 9.5.3 and use internet explorer.

Example I had today. I was filling an online form and entered on submit.
The form came back on screen and said I had an error highlighted in red. I
know WE can identify the color of any character that the cursor is on, but
is there a way for me to find the red? I am told by a sighted person that
the red may be words or a symbol like a star. Note I did eventually find
the error since the only other clue I was given was that it was a required
field, so I reviewed those fields and on my second review I made the change.
Whew!

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Re: Major Problem with Eset

2016-09-29 Thread Stephen Clark via Talk
You can add my dissatisfaction with Eset over this and other recent
interface access problems with the product. I'm actually up for renewal,
but with the release of version 9, I decided to completely remove NOD32
from my system and will not be renewing. I've always been a big fan of
Eset from the beginning especially because of their past commitment to
accessibility and have recommended them to others, etc. I guess they've
chosen a different path (and so have I).

Hi Samuel,

I face a similar problem that you are facing. Regretably, Window-Eyes,

The work around would be to use an alternative screen reader such as
NVDA, which works relatively well, if you can put up with some
relatively minor accessibility issues.

Subject: Major Problem with Eset

Hello everyone,

I am having a major problem with Eset which I can't solve with
Window-Eyes. I am trying to log into my bank, but Eset insists on
opening its secure banking payment system, and it is seeing Window-Eyes
as a key logger threat. I don't know how to set Window-Eyes to be in
the whitelist, and I can't get into Eset to turn the banking payment
system off because Eset is now refusing to interface with Window-Eyes.
I managed to open the advanced settings, but Window-Eyes will not
respond to any tabbing or use of the arrow keys, so I can't check to
make sure the enable use of graphics is turned off. This is
particularly important, as I can't even check the amount in my bank
without logging in. Can anyone help with this? Thank you.

RE: iTunes help please

2016-09-29 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Charles,

Yes, Apple really has made a mess of iTunes recently and none of the recent
updates have addressed the accessibility issues introduced after version
12.1.
Recently, I had uninstalled the newest version of iTunes, 12.4, I believe,
and installed 12.1 which I found on an Apple downloads page.
12.1 was very usable, but I decided to update again to the newest version
just to be current, and hoping for the best as updates came out, but I
continue to be disappointed by Apple.
Anyway, I still have the 12.1 installer and may use it again within a
virtual machine, but, for now, I am okay struggling with the newest version.
Now, as to your complaint about not being able to view any more than one
track in an album, I can confirm this in my own experience.
One thing which helped me to see all of the tracks in my library, sorted by
album, is to choose the Album option in the Sort By drop-down on the View
menu.
By choosing this option, what you get is a huge list of all the tracks in
your media library sorted by album such that each track in the album is
there flowing from the previous album into the next album, and this list is,
at least, alphabetical.

I hope this helps,

Rod

Hi, Chris -
First, thanks for the prompt reply.
Second, I know better, but I sent my plea without full info. I am running WE
9.5.3.0 and Windows 10 AE.
Third, I went to the WE control panel, uninstalled and reinstalled factory
settings for Outlook 2007, saved settings for good measure, then restarted
the computer. I opened Outlook 2007 and still the status indicators are not
speaking (read, unread, attachment). I have also uninstalled and reinstalled
the Outlook Enhanced app. Still no status spoken.
I've exhausted my personal WE and Windows knowledge and toolkits. Anything
else you can direct me to try?

Hi,
Make sure you are running 9.5.3 and go to file/factory settings and
reinstall the factory settings for Office 2007.

2007 uses graphic labels for those icons. Office 2010 and above Tell
Window-eyes the status and don't rely on graphic labels that can break.

After Windows 10 AE update installed I no longer hear "Read," "Unread," or
"Attachment" in relation to messages in my Outlook 2007 in-box. This is on
my desktop computer. My netbook with Outlook 2010 still speaks the message
status following the Windows 10 AE update.

I know that instructions have been shared here for turning status speaking
back on, but I cannot locate them now. Please repeat how to turn these items
back on in Outlook 2007, either on the list or by replying to my address in

P.S. Windows 10 AE update has otherwise worked well. Cortana is a little
scrambled, but I am becoming accustomed to her new layout.

Thank you.

Samuel Wilkins

RE: "Read," "Unread," "Attachment" Stopped with Outlook 2007

2016-09-29 Thread Chris Grabowski via Talk
Hi,
Make sure you are running 9.5.3 and go to file/factory settings and reinstall
the factory settings for Office 2007.

2007 uses graphic labels for those icons. Office 2010 and above Tell
Window-eyes the status and don't rely on graphic labels that can break.
Chris

Subject: "Read," "Unread," "Attachment" Stopped with Outlook 2007

Hi Weers -
After Windows 10 AE update installed I no longer hear "Read," "Unread," or
"Attachment" in relation to messages in my Outlook 2007 in-box. This is on my
desktop computer. My netbook with Outlook 2010 still speaks the message status
following the Windows 10 AE update.

I know that instructions have been shared here for turning status speaking back
on, but I cannot locate them now. Please repeat how to turn these items back on
in Outlook 2007, either on the list or by replying to my address in the CC:
field.

Many thanks -
Ed Culpepper

P.S. Windows 10 AE update has otherwise worked well. Cortana is a little
scrambled, but I am becoming accustomed to her new layout.
