RE: email
Tony and others, there's an E-mail app I'd like to have tested. No, I didn't write it, yikes, not too good at writing my own name let alone create an app, Ok, the E-mail app is called BlueMail. I tried playing with it, but I was hitting brickwalls. I suspect there's something I was doing wrong, but I can't put a finger on it. So, may be if others help test, they'll discover my silly errors and I can be a happy camper deploying the app. You can find a Windows version at: www.bluemail.com The Mobile version, which has ensconced itself on my Shiny Android Toys, work superbly well. Ok, I'll go continue to cheer Notre Dame U to victory whilst I await better findings on this app than I had succeeded in doing. Gracious thanks one and all! Re: email
the biggest risk is the user. clicking on links in the message and opening attachments. opening auvious spam mail etc. i don't know where to download the off line installation for wlm. but this should install without microsofts permission. grin. as far as google they want you to think that every email client is a security risk except there own products. you have to log into your google account and go to your security settings and check the options to allow unsecure programs before you can send and recieve google mail. google will block you if you don't do this. this applies to wlm, thunderbird and severl versions of outlook. -Original Message- From: tony c via Talk Sent: Saturday, November 09, 2019 12:44 PM To: Window-Eyes Discussion List Cc: tony c Subject: RE: email I have a gmail account and it does work but there’s a lot of crap on the screen that I really don’t want to weed thru everytime I was to check my email. One of the issues that will be faced for certain at some point is that other screen readers are doing a lot on an on-going basis to keep up with changes to programs like Outlook, and even Window-Eyes is still using a lot of the work done in the past. It is possible that some aspects of Windows Mail could work better with the right Window-Eyes "app" but it isn't that easy to make that happen now. The Becky email program is not free but is only something like $35 and there is no charge for upgrades. You have to change a few settings and the interface is a little different but I believe it is still working with Window-Eyes. That might be worth a look and they have a trial period. You can check out http://www.rimarts.co.jp/becky.htm#download but remember you have to disable the "Line Pointer" in the "edit" tab of "general Setup and also the "Four Way Cursor" option in the Message tab of the same dialog. This simply means unchecking the associated check boxes. That program is still being updated but their updates seem to be very carefully done. wlm and mouse tracking.
i don't know either. i only use windows live mail to send and recieve mail. i have never used or need to use any of the other functions. so i have never used window eyes with mouse tracking on. tracking does work when you are in the to,from, bcc, and cc fields but i found this quite annoying with the added verbage so i turned mouse tracking back off. -Original Message- From: Pamela Dominguez via Talk Sent: Saturday, November 09, 2019 8:33 AM To: Window-Eyes Discussion List Cc: Pamela Dominguez Subject: Re: email Really? RE: email
Hi Darrell, Thunderbird worked great for me until Window-Eyes stopped tracking the cursor. This was the second email client which did this to me. The previous one was Windows Live Mail. Since I switched to Office 365 Outlook, this has not happened. I know that Office 365 costs money on an ongoing basis, but Microsoft regularly improves its accessibility, and so staying with it gives you the best opportunity to use accessible email software on Windows and the Apple Mac. I know, I say this all the time. I use very little of anything except Microsoft word on a rare occasion. I just hate the mail program that’s with win 10. I do use it but it’s not totally accessible.
