On the otherhand: they could simply iraticate Window-Eyes and Magic from
the market place and put all of their efforts in to JAWS and Zoomtext.
Whatever the case, you can bet it will be a business decision.

Hi Guys. I know that some of you guys are upset about this but here is my
thoughts on this. As we all know, Window-Eyes has been denied its
opertunity in mainstreme blind related computer programs, meaning that in
the days of GWMicro, no agency would fund Window-Eyes even though it had a
price tag similar to JAWS. As for NVDA, it's a great product as far as it
goes. However, there are business's and employment that I have come across
who don't like OpenSource. The reason is that they fear that OpenSource
solutions can affect their computers with virus's, spyware, etc. Thirdly, it
allows Window-Eyes to become embraced in schools, colleges, universities,
etc as for years it hasn't had a chance to become accepted in schools in the
US or in Canada. Also, there are also JAWS scripts that could easally be
modified to work with Window-Eyes. These include CakeTalking from Dancing
Dots, which I personally use in my recording studio to record music, as well
as the lime notation product to notate scores. All of these packages that I
use are essential for my work as a musician.

I spoke with Eset about their message suggesting folks with screen
readers use Version 8 if they experience problems. They said they
have not yet tested Version 9 with screen readers. I have used their
products for over five years. They are very responsive to user
feedback, particularly from those of us using screen readers.
You can always download a trial copy of version 9 and test it out.
Please remember to uncheck the "use graphical user interface" option
in Settings. F5 will get you to the settings options. Please report
back to us on your Version 9 findings.

Hi,
Just to add, that we have heard from some upgraders, that the .pst file used
by Microsoft outlook, becomes corrupt as well. So be sure you take a backup
before upgrading to windows 10.

Thanks.

Windows 10 works very well, it is more like windows 7 than windows 8.1 You
will need Window Eyes 9.2. You probably won't be able to find a new computer
with Win 7, but you might find a refurbished one with Win 7 if you want to
keep running an OS you are familiar. Win 7 will be supported until 2020.

 Hi Guys,

My windows pc is on it's last leg and I'm going to replace it. I'm
wondering from you people who have gone to windows 10 how it's working
out. Is it a lot different than windows seven? My 92 year old mind
doesn't absorb and comprehend things like it did 20 or so years ago.
I nortice most of the new computers out there are loaded with either
 windows
 8 or 10 and I've heard that 8 wasn't very good. I'm using windows 7
64 bit now and am used to that.I'd be interested in your feedback as
to how windows 10 works with windoweyes and if it's a lot different to
operate.
Thanks so much for your comments.
