RE: we and number pad not working

2020-02-12 Thread Roger A. Behm, President via Talk
Hi numeric keypad not working,

I only use Dell computers and always have a fresh install of windows 10 pro
when I have a windows 7 operating system on the computer. Never, never do I
do an upgrade from 7 or 8 to windows 10, all your problems come along with
the upgrade!

I always have the numeric keypad working just fine with Narator, NVDA, and
window-eyes, and I just had a dell laptop wiped clean and anew fresh
install of windows 10 pro withte newest windows 10 drivers and such done and
everything works just fine.

Something must be conflicting with your numeric keypad and window-eyes.

Regards,
Roger

is there anyone left on this list?
i had to reinstall windows 10.
i have a admin and standard user account.
the problem is with the admin account.

the w e number pad functions don't work in the admin account but are ok with

the standard account.
like the num pad 5 does a left mouse click and the plus key does the right
mous click.
the keys for top and bottom of screen do nothing.
i tried changeing keyboard layouts. but all of them do the same thing.
i copied the default folder from the standard user account to the admin
default
folder with the same results.
i checked in windows for the keyboard language. all is set to english and a
standard pc keyboard. which i have. it is wired. not a usb keyboard.
the w e functions were working before i re installed windows 10 19.9 a few
weeks ago.
does anyone know what i can do?
thanks if there is anyone left. grin

Don't know if any of you listers own a Braille Embosser. Just wondered
if someone happen to know of any OK translation software.

I did use Duxbury in the past, but have lost my license key. And from
what I can make out of it, that package is not exactly cheap.

Basically, I need just a piece of software, that will format a plain
text, into something printable in Braille. Of course, it will be best if
it manages Grade-Two, as well.

If any of you would have some brand name, or some kind of experience to
share, please let me know. Contact me off-list, that we don't clutter
the traffic here.

If nothing else, I would have to write my own little piece of software,
to handle the few printing jobs I need. Does there exist any booklets,
that define the printing rules of American Grade-Two (contracted)
Braille? Anything up-to-date available on the net?

Thanks for any feedback.

It is on my business web page:

it is under the link called; blind friendly links

then under the link called; ais downloads

then under the link called: updates.

Thank God Doug is working for Microsoft and improving Narator, and the
company who bought out GW Micro will not be able to buy out MicroSoft!

Hello Tom et al

If anyone has a copy of thw WE aps, or if it is available at a Dropbox site,
please let me know. Thanks for the info Tom.

Regarding the Office 2016 funky behavior, sometimes, when replying to an
e-mail, the return message is no where to be found on my screen even though
it is there. Also, seems like my verbosity setting goes away too. Speaking
only letters rather than a whole word. Minor but annoying. Bob Garrett
