The best way to do that nowadays is to by an external sound card, and get NVDA or whatever screenreader you might be using to go through that one instead of your main one. The old synthesizers just aren't being used much these days. Luckily, external sound cards aren't too expensive. Just make sure you have a set of speakerrs for the external card or you won't be hearing anything. Excuse my ignorance, but is there way to get NVDA and other screen readers like it to work with external synthesizers? I do a lot of recording and would like to have my speech running on something separately. I could assign a different sound card for the speech I suppose. I have the latest NVDA but have not yet found this DEC Access 32 addin. Is it perchance free? I do lament not being able to assign hotkeys in NVDA. Hey I certainly understand SMAA concerns, and upgrade issues, but the ones who deserve sympathy are the ones who are not on this list yet, the ones who may want to purchase WE for the first time, and are unsure whether they can. NVDA for the win! absolutely free, does a lot of great stuff and has many great plugins. also free. Everyone forgets this.
