Don,

It works fine here. I come into a list box, arrow down through the
devices, press the application key to open the context menu, and I have
choices for preferences, properties, etc. which all open simple dialogs.

Hth,
Tom

Is there another way to access this same info besides using the printers

Hi Jim,

just type "printer" in the search box under start, without the quotes and
you will get there.

Hi there GROUP!
Found the printers list and the default printer was one that I have never
heard of? I was unable to find the spot where I could select a printer.
Can someone remind me of where to look? I am running Windows 7 at the
present time and am going to update my windows as well as my printer soon!
Any suggestions on where I can look? Hopefully I have given enough info..?

THANKS MUCH! de

I would love an all-in-one but it's the pits Setup requires sighted
assistance.

Amazon had a Canon on sale for around $70.

I have a brother all in one laser as well, got it in 2012.
Once you get the software installed, I'm wondering if yours has the speech
feedback. It is one of the alert options and is buried.
It'll say things such as the name of the printer and if it is sleeping, out of
paper, no toner ready etc.

It uses the computers tts to generate the speech and is quite handy.
You can't change any settings on the machine itself without sighted help, the
computer just speaks status messages.
