Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Question
Hi! I use Avast, but the sad part it does not work with any screen reader because it disables game controls, thus any event with the keyboard is dead in the water. You can get a free version and it works great, but not screen reader friendly. Each time it wants you to renew you have to get a sighted person to help. Just thought I would mention it. Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Question
it use to be accessible about 8 years ago. i don't know about now. and what mse use to protect you from a few years ago does not apply now. it has a zero rateing now and even microsoft may tell people to use mse on there web site but other microsoft execs are telling people to use another antivirus program for there main protection. -Original Message- From: Carol and Roger via Talk Sent: Friday, July 24, 2015 4:14 PM To: Elizabeth ; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Question OK, I agree with what you say, but after being infected through a different program that came with my internet server, I switched to MSE. MSE was able to find infected files that the other program missed. I also use Malware Bites. No program is completely effective. I read a report that says a program called Panda is rating very good these days. Has anyone tried that one with Window-Eyes? Thanks. RE: Microsoft Security Essentials Question
Dennis, I only recommend products to blind people which I know are accessible. If you go back through the list archives over the past couple of months, you will read about how accessible Eset Security Suite and Eset NOD32 are. Also the user support is very good. I first used NOD32 and later Eset and have used them for years.
