RE: Testing my options update
Actually, I wrote to Jeff Bishop because he works for Microsoft, and I asked him if he cold send my message on to Doug or Jeremy, and he did. And I'd think of using narrator, but I don't like the way it reads with Excel, and it messes up my Braille display. But it's really good to have choices, and I'm really impressed with the improvements I've heard about with Narrator. -Original Message- From: Talk On Behalf Of Brenda via Talk Sent: Saturday, February 20, 2021 4:51 PM To: Window-Eyes Discussion List Cc: Brenda Subject: Testing my options update Hello list, I am just testing to see if my options updated because when I sent an earlier message it did not post to the list or I just didn’t get notification of it. Jane, I’m glad to see you still can communicate with Doug, not sure how you did that. it did occur to me that with him and Jeremy at Microsoft even if they aren’t directly working with narrator I suspect they are giving input. Glad to hear I’m not the only one having difficulty with windows 10 with jaws. I would love to see more people go to narrator especially if window eyes gets weaker. actually narrator reminds me of window eyes. Re: second test, Re: testing Thunderbird
I just sent a message, how my ThunderBird, was working perfectly. When I sent the message, I got a: Error in WEtoolkit. I tried to ignore it, and received another message: Error in ThunderBird. testing complete
In order to keep Thunderbird from reading the first line of the message twice, I have found that a single character in the first line will stop the repeat. Would it be possible to create an automatically generated character addition to the TB Enhanced app so that it would automatically add something at the beginning of the compose email screen? Of course, it doesn't bother me to do this for my outgoing messages, it is only a problem for incoming messages that begin with an entire line of text that gets repeated. Yes, I know I am being picky, grin. On 12/18/2015 8:18 AM, Carol and Roger via Talk wrote: . Well, skipping a blank line did not stop the repeated reading of the first line. Testing WE on Various Operating Systems
Hi Guys: Those who test WE in Windows 7 are using a quantum leap backward from the Windows 8 and above. In Windows 8 Microsoft has continued getting away from MSAA and eliminated the use of a screen buffer that most screen readers relied heavily on to read formatted screens. Windows 8 is many times more dynamic than Windows 7 and objects and the UIA model is thus more dynamic and diferent as well as a result. Therefore what works in Windows 7 may not work properly in Windows 8 or 8.1 with WindowEyes. Just a heads up and if you are still running Windows 7 it, like XP, is getting very long in the tooth and an upgrade is really called for - either Windows 8.1 or the new Windows 10 when it comes out since I think MS is dropping support for Windows 7 sooner rather than later as they did with Windows XP if I remember correctly. RE: Testing on Monday, February 9, 2015
Why are some people adding the date in their subject fields. Is this being done by an email client? I know it's nit picky, but assistive tech users already are plagued by extraneous speech. Do we really need to hear the date spoken twice? . And what about people from countries where the day comes before the month?
