Breaking News: windows 10 are you willing to give up your privacy?
Hi! Yes, the way of the future is all your privacy is lost. Everyone is spying on everyone. My Breaking News keeps the spying away until you go to the web site. So, Breaking News 3.1 is now posted and has several changes in it. You now have 7 items to enter on the alert for your web page. Added are the Block check box and the End Block search phrase, to mark the end of the block you want read. Note: If you do not check the check box, or the first phrase is not found, the End block phrase will be your second search phrase. So, now you have 3 searches done, the first phrase, then the end block phrase, and a search for the Heading 1 font search. I have added a menu for the downloaded web page text read for handy hotkey functions. A File, Edit, View, and Help menu is added. The file menu also has a download for downloading and saving files. The view menu has the 3 options for viewing a web page, text, link, and go to the page. The edit features are Find phrase, Reverse search, and go to a line number. The help menu is the simple standard help. In the future I will make all dialog menus have the same features but the edit menu which are obviously different when using an edit box. I will change the help menu in the future to list the hotkeys and an explanation of each, along with them being functional. So, it is now ready for download. RE: windows 10 are you willing to give up your privacy?
Now, there's an issue not discussed much? How will Windows 10 attempt to encroach further on my privacy? Yes, I want to know how, and I'd like to know what I can do to protect myself. Re: windows 10 are you willing to give up your privacy?
In today's Internet connected world, I believe that privacy died a long time ago honestly. We have never had it. And we never will. Sites most of them sell infomration, and rent them out to other companies, as part of data collection practices. The NSA has been spying on us for over 10 years. So, do I personally believet hat we still have any privacy at all? No. Now, do some times and people protect our privacy with them for hwatever they do? Most certainly. But remember this. The Intenret is a public resource. So, if you truely want privacy, turn off your computers, stop using your cards, go back to cash or paper checks, sshut down all bank accounts, etc. Only speak to people once you've looked around for bug tracking devices, etc. Think on that. Re: windows 10 are you willing to give up your privacy?
Windows 10 and the new Browser supposedly gives Microsoft much more feed back as to how you use the computer, where you go on the web, what you do when you are there, and what you buy. I imagine anything written in MS Office, whether it be a Spread Sheet, or a Document, is probably available to those who wish to view the contents of these files. If you own a Small business, you might wish to keep some things of your business privet. do you really want a flood of Bankruptcy lawyers sending you their Electronic Business Cards, letting you know, their Services are available? All because someone was able to peek at your Quick Book files? or maybe you were stupid enough to buy some Sex Toy On Line, and now an ad pops up when your best friend, who is a bad Gossiper, is borrowing your lap top to do some work of his own. Or maybe your friend writes a fiery letter off to a Politician, but because it was written on your machine, those watchers think you are the one who wrote the nasty letter, and not your friend. We are edging more and more into a culture where everyone has to be careful about what they say, and to who you say it. Even though some much is said about being Tolerant, I find today there is less and less tolerance. when using your computer, always, and I do mean, always have the understanding, that nothing on it, and anything you do on it, could be seen by someone else. big Brother is watching, and has been watching, and probably lots of Little Brothers too. If you want real privacy, but still want to use the computer, guess you will need to have two systems. One that is hooked up to the internet, and another that is not, and never will be. ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. Re: windows 10 are you willing to give up your privacy?
Well said, and it has nothing to do with Win 10 specifically. Win 8.1 and prior has been doing the same exact thing. If you visit google to do searches, or visit other web sites, how do you think they make their money? Do you really think those ads you come across every where are there just to annoy you? Of course not! Think about it. On 8/1/2015 11:25 AM, Keith Hinton via Talk wrote: In today's Internet connected world, I believe that privacy died a long time ago honestly.
