Well, the idea is that you don't mix layout into the content at all.
Presuming a line break at a certain position might not make sense in
another language.

Not a problem of language file format, but your app framework.

How would you then for example insert a newline (CR+) LF?
Does there a language file format standard exist for that?

I agree - we should practice exactly what we're requiring others to do,
which is adhere to the terms of our own license.

I do not, however, agree that the URL makes it clear that the data comes
from OpenStreetMap - for example, data shown on www.foo.co could easily be
from www.bar.org. Again - look at the Bing maps example. Everyone probably
thinks all the data comes from just Microsoft, but it's clearly marked (c)
2012 Nokia.

Also, to the discussions about whether we should do stuff just because
Google (or Microsoft) does them. In general, I'd say no. In the area of
legal protection, where they probably have a full-time staff of trademark
and copyright lawyers, I'd say yes.

reuse and transliterate parts of yours? Same goes for you of course.)

Stefan: I noticed some weird stuff like broken down sentences that are
probably to be concatenated dynamically. This is _very bad_ i18n design.
Just because it it might work for German or English, it won't work for most
other languages. Please write whole sentences in code with a substitution
argument, even it means some duplication. Same goes for plural forms etc.

[OSM-talk] Kort Game: Translators seeked!

Dear all,

I'm referring to the small Kort game [1] which has been recently
mentioned in Weekly OSM Summary #59, January 1, 2013 [2]. It is a
cross-platform, crowdsourcing app aimed to improve OpenStreetMap using
the concept of gamification (see [3]). Already about 800 users are
registered at Kort!

Kort is now ready for being translated at Transifex! This is a
collaborative, web-based localization platform which is free to use
for open source projects.

After signing up at http://www.transifex.com with a new account
(choose the "Open Source" option at bottom), you can search for Kort
project, choose your language, then click on "+ Join Team". You can
contribute even if you don't want to do the whole translation (this is
why there is a team).  And if you miss a language there, just "Request
a new language".It seems to be easy to use and has help – of course in
several languages :-).

Thank you for contributing to Kort. I can't give you Koins for
translating, but I can wish you "happy korting"!
