The upcoming release of Vespucci (version 11) has support for displaying
geojson as a layer. The current beta release is available from the
google playstore (and our github repository
https://github.com/MarcusWolschon/osmeditor4android/releases).

I'm in favour of proceeding with the proposed mechanical edit. The tag
change in question is doubtlessly an improvement, and the plans are
thoroughly documented. :)
