When I last looked 5 years ago, the only free option for me in SC, USA 
has a base station 54 miles away.  Although way outside of the 
recommended distance, I use their NTRIP feed for a significant increase 
in accuracy and precision.

Where it says that the NTRIP caster for NRW is free of charge for
real-time applications.

So - there are possibilities to use that with an RTK enabled Chipset
without having your own base station.
