Re: [OSM-talk] Survey on global and local communities in OpenStreetMap

2019-08-07 Thread Dorothea Kazazi

Hi Simon :)

There's a typo in the section on communication channels, the first
occurrence of "other mailing lists" is mangled.

Thanks, it is un-mangled now :)

[OSM-talk] Survey on global and local communities in OpenStreetMap

2019-08-07 Thread Dorothea Kazazi

Hello,

The following survey on global and local communities in OpenStreetMap
was developed by board members. The survey is not quantitative and its
aim is to stimulate discussions in local communities and at the Local
Chapters Congress at SotM.

https://osmf.limequery.org/428835

~ The survey will run for two weeks.
~ Only one question is mandatory: "How can we share your answers?".

There is more information on the scope of the survey and approach on the
opening page.

warm greetings,

Dorothea

[OSM-talk] State of the Map 2019 - Scholarships, review team and criteria

2019-03-24 Thread Dorothea Kazazi
Hello,

The OpenStreetMap Foundation [1], which supports the project and
organises the annual State of the Map conference [2], offers financial
assistance to people who would like to attend State of the Map. To apply
for a scholarship/grant to attend State of the Map 2019 which will take
place in Heidelberg, Germany (September 21 – 23), please read
https://blog.openstreetmap.org/2019/02/26/apply-for-scholarship-to-join-us-at-state-of-the-map-2019-in-heidelberg/

# Review team and criteria
We expect to receive around 150-200 applications. In order to set up the
SotM 2019 team that will review the scholarship applications, we decided
to contact past scholars who might want to be involved in the process.

* Twelve persons will review the applications (Thanks!). All people who
replied or self-volunteered were included.
* Eleven are past scholars.
* Four are women.
* Four volunteered to help without/prior to being contacted.

# Geographic distribution of review team nationalities:
* 4 Africa
* 4 Asia-Pacific
* 4 Europe

# Criteria for reviewing the applications:
Here’s a list of factors that the team will consider when reviewing the
applications:

* Is the applicant part of an under-represented minority group?
* Are they from an under-represented location?
* Are they contributing to OSM in a substantial way? (Not only
OpenStreetMap edits, but contributed to wiki and documentation,
trainers, developers).
* Have they applied previously and not gotten a scholarship?
* Do they have a unique story or experience to share?
* Are they in a position to share their SotM experience with a larger group?
* Will their attendance benefit their local community in some way?
* How difficult will their visa application be?
* How will attending State of the Map benefit them and OpenStreetMap?

# Stats so far
We received a good number of applications from Africa and South Asia. We
would be happy to receive many applications from other regions too.
Please spread the word to your local community if you can :)

You can submit or update your application before the 30th of March.

If you have any enquiries, feel free to send an email to
scholar-s...@openstreetmap.org
Thank you.

warm greetings,

Dorothea

Re: [Talk-es] Fwd: [Osmf-talk] Summaries for 2017

2017-12-11 Thread Dorothea Kazazi
Hola Javier :)

Los miembros normales tienen que proporcionar su dirección residencial y
pueden votar sobre todos los problemas. Además, si desea convertirse en un
Director of the Board, debe ser un miembro normal.

Los miembros asociados solo proporcionan el nombre de su país y pueden
votar, pero no en todos los asuntos.

Espero que esto ayude.

Perdón por la traducción automática :)

saludos,

Dorothea
