I for one am glad to have the boundaries of the 'real' counties in OSM, so

The only thing I would say is, as the tool is clearly still at the 
proof-of-concept stage / in development, it should be hitting the test database 
and not the live one. It's not clear to me from what you've posted that that's 
the case: can you reassure us on that point?
