Re: [OSM-talk] JOSM Error

2015-10-15 Thread Vincent Privat
Please create a bug report using integrated feature (Help => Report bug) we
will help you there.
We will also need that you enable the Java console as described here:
https://www.java.com/en/download/help/javaconsole.xml
and that you copy/paste the full console output.
Regards,
Vincent

Great job! Is there an API to get comments? I didn't find such on the wiki.
Also, are anonymous comments allowed?

JOSM now accepts https connections on port 8112 [1] in addition of standard
http requests on port 8111. Can you update OSM website accordingly? Thanks

22 wiki administrators ? I didn't think you were so many.

Question: are you all notified about tickets created here ?

Re: [OSM-talk] How to improve addressing?

2012-12-28 Thread Vincent Privat
Hi,

Apart of this welcome change (thanks Frederik !), I'd like to mention some
recent enhancements in JOSM's associatedStreet relations support:

- Revision 5644 (tomorrow's latest) brings a bunch of validator checks
targeted to addresses coherence. These checks are well known to
French-speaking mappers as they are the same as performed by Osmose [1].
- Revisions 5614/5615/5624/5625 (last week) enabled an automatic role
detection when using preset dialog and relation editor. If you add some
highway or addr:housenumber to an associatedStreet relation, the role will
be automatically filled.
- Revision 5516 and 5603 (already included in current tested version)
allowed to sort members according to their addr:housenumber value.

I hope all these changes will ease addresses mapping.

Vincent

Then I am glad you are not involved in it, because it would be a serious
case of vandalism. This would be totally unjustified to wipe such a valid
geographic information because it lacks a few tags that can be added later
by other people. OSM is a collaborative and iterative map. If you think
uploading buildings is pointless, then don't upload buildings. But that's
not a reason to prevent other people to do so.

"The *Data Working Group* (d...@osmfoundation.org) is authorised by the

As I understand this, the French cadastre integration is not concerned by
any of the DWG attributions. It is not its role to check how good or bad
the integration of external data has been made, when no one complains about
it, when the map has been improved by this integration, and when the local
community is perfectly OK with it.

What happened on 15th september looks like an abuse of authority to me, as
this largely exceeds the limits of the mandate given to the DWG. I expect a
clarification from the OSMF board on this point.
