This reminds me of a problem I've been having with the map: terrible
mousewheel/trackpad scroll behavior in Safari on a Mac. It seems over-sensitive
to acceleration and I can easily cause the map to zoom out to the entire world
with a careless gesture.

I know that scroll behavior can vary greatly between browsers and that this is
likely to be an OpenLayers problem. I also know that Mike Bostock has done some
good work in D3 to normalize mousewheel behavior across browsers. Can it be
ported to OL to fix the OSM map?
