Also, it would be nice to be able to send a message to all near you

Good, let's look at those first. I appreciate the potential for
messaging spam and that definitely deserves careful consideration.
The popup problem seems to be plain javascript, I can at least submit
a patch for that..

been Chinese, let me see what I can figure out.

Please bear in mind that if you're planning to work on this stuff that
it is a very contentious area that needs careful thought. Also there are
a lot of tickets in trac already around this stuff and making various
suggestions.

I've had the same problem on Windows I think both XP as well as Vista/Win7, at
least XP and I think both on Chrome as well as Firefox (at least Chrome).

+1 for the desire to (batch) send msgs to all mappers near you. I'd also love
to see more mappers around me. It seems to be currently limited to somewhat
smallish number.

Thanks to whoever has developed the current functionality and thanks in advance

Hi all,

Looking at the map of nearby users on my osm.org user page, I notice
that the bubbles that appear when I hover over another user don't
stick, so I can't click on the user to send her/him a message. This is
on recent Firefox on Ubuntu. Is this happening for other people as
well? First clicking on the marker does not help.

Also, it would be nice to be able to send a message to all near you
(to advertise a mapping party for example, or to draw attention to a
mapping issue). Is there already some way to do this?

Thanks
Martijn
