Re: [OSM-talk] Reading AutoCAD .dwg in JOSM/Merkaartor on Mac
I guess you probably have to reproject the maps, if they're not already in WGS84 / mercator 900913. cheers, Martin ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
[OSM-talk] Reading AutoCAD .dwg in JOSM/Merkaartor on Mac
Hi I have got hold on some maps in AutoCAD .dwg format, and want to use it as a layer for tracing roads, buildings, and other features into OSM. I am Mac user, but have access to Linux (Ubuntu) if I need that to convert the data or to set up a WMS/TMS with the data. I just wonder if anybody out there have any good advices for this type of imports. All the mentioned maps are in Public Domain. The maps contains all property borders, houses, street names, place names, important building names, and much more, devided into municipals. I also have a lot of .pdf files with map snippets with a similar data structure. brgds Aun Johnsen ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

I believe you have to go *DXF* - SHP- *OSM. If you do a google search should pull up some info. Re: [OSM-talk] Reading AutoCAD .dwg in JOSM/Merkaartor on Mac
Hi, If your just going to be 'tracing' from public domain maps (dwg files) maybe gpsbabel could convert it to gpx, and trace over it that way would work? Would be interesting to learn your findings. Then we could post it on the wiki (if possable, and explain the method) Sam On 10/21/09, Aun Yngve Johnsen li...@gimnechiske.org wrote: Hi I have got hold on some maps in AutoCAD .dwg format, and want to use it as a layer for tracing roads, buildings, and other features into OSM.
