[OSM-talk] Stale tiles?

2012-06-20 Thread Maarten Deen
I did an update this morning on this area [1] with the webstart version
of JOSM, but for some reason mapnik does not render the tiles.
What's more, tile 18/135429/87151 shows as clean, but rendered on june
9th. The wiki [3] states that tiles older than 7 days will be marked
dirty.

Other tiles are also all clean and rendered yesterday or earlier.

What's the process for marking the tiles dirty and why doesn't it work
ATM?

Hi Maarten,

Normally you can mark a tile dirty just by replacing /status with /dirty.
On occasion the render servers get overloaded (then the /status stays at
is clean since the server hasn't processed the dirty-Request). In this
case you'll just have to wait some time for the servers to catch up again
and then your tiles will be rendered. Although in the past this was the
case regularly for some month now it happens rather rarely.

Michael

We had an outage of the render server last night, will be fixed up in
the next few hours.

Thanks for changing the platform status too. Would it be a good idea to
make a permanent link to the munin stats somewhere? Either the platform
status page or each server's page?
