I just checked Potlatch and JOSM for the area just and they both
still differed.

I then used Potlatch to move a node slightly, then moved it back. I
let it save then redownloaded the data in JOSM and they now seem to
match.

Hope that helps

No. If the data is still different in the 2 editors, go back to
potlatch, use the live edit mode and make a minor modification to both
Carriageways, and deselect, wait a while before you close potlatch/the
browser. Then try again in JOSM.

If it's just not showing up on the map, you have to wait for a re-render
to happen.

What I really do not understand is that the data is still different now
more than
12 hours later! :puzzle: Does it have to do with being member of a
relation?

Edit the way slightly in potlatch, it'll save the correct version to
the database.
This inconsistency sometimes occurs when the server is under high load
due to the lack of transactions in the current API.
This should be fixed in API0.6

[OSM-talk] data inconsistence?

2009-01-22 Thread Roman Neumüller
For half an hour now I try to get another result but no: different data in
two
editors!

Please open

in both editors: potlatch and JOSM.

See the motorway near the river/canal? The north-bound motorway
changed to a straight line in JOSM (looking like this strange
potlatch error which sometimes happens) but not in potlatch!
There the ways go parallel!

And be sure I've both closed browser and josm and changed browsers -
when reopening: same result.
