Quite cool. I saw the note on the left bar. So, did you set it up as an alternative to the official bus service information? I may do the same in my city, Padova, Italy, where the bus company provides quite a lame service concerning information on routes, timetables and so on... I don't believe the search algorithm should be expanded to return more hits in this case. Re: [OSM-talk] FYI - OpenTripPlanner instance
I'd love to reproduce that unofficially here in Tulsa. I was one of the OSM folks that worked on the data for the TriMet project. I haven't ever set up OTP before, I suggested it to Tulsa Transit sometime last year, they said it hadn't occurred to them to try an online trip planner. Then turned around and spent a lot of money on a broken system that I've yet to get to work even for trips I know fully well are possible. Re: [OSM-talk] FYI - OpenTripPlanner instance
Hi Mike. Is it possible to add one of the public transport maps as a layer? I did not have much time now to test, but obviously I missed useful locations and got no trips planned because my end points aren't safe (only connected to highway or sth. like that). the public transport layer would be helpful to compare the public transport routing with the results, too. regards Peter Am 30.10.2012 04:48, schrieb Mike N: FYI - I've finished the testing for my local instance of OpenTripPlanner [1] and it's ready to go live. Yes, they were unable to obtain a grant for any electronic route service information, so this is improves on the published paper schedules. ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

Great suggestion for the public transport layer! OTP supports the routes as WMS, and I was trying to get a map tile layer to work as WMS but I see it can be done directly as a layer. Thanks. I included the more heavily populated areas outside of the bus transportation zone for bicycle routing purposes. It should pick up a bus route if you pick 2 points near the center, as well as choosing times from 8AM-5PM Monday-Saturday. ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
