Assuming you know the username (from zooming in on the Osmarender layer say)
then you can append that name instead of your own to the www.osm address. eg
mine is at http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/blackadder. From there you can
send an email to the user.

Do you have a map url?

What user id is being reported?

I have seen instances where a user has started their username with a  
space and it has thrown various things.
