I'm going through the model rules atm, and part one covers this:

secretary means:
(a) the person holding office under these rules as
secretary of the association, or
(b) if no such person holds that office – the public officer
of the association

So the public officer can be secretary, but only if no one else fills that role.

The wiki has a plugin to do dynamic maps, you do this:

The downside to dynamic over static maps, especially for wide area
shots if they take a lot longer to load compared to a simple static
image and the city wide map should rarely change.

[talk-au] Fixed map image for city wiki page?

2009-09-19 Thread Ben Kelley
Hi.

I noticed that the wiki page for Sydney (
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Sydney) has a fixed image made quite a
long time ago. Does anyone know how such an image gets onto the page? It
seems that it comes from the image specified in the place template
(Sydney0708).

I was thinking it would be better to have a live image (e.g. a slippy map).
Presumably this would be accomplished by removing the image tag from the
place template, and then adding the appropriate map macro to the main page.
Does this sound correct?

 - Ben.

I was also thinking that we could have the pharmacy dispensing as more likely
than not_dispensing (I have only found one of those so far)
and preset the carrier for the mail to Australia Post, the operator of the
telephone to Telstra and other sensible defaults for us

It looks sort of simple enough, here's one of the default preset xml files

It allows you to tag a bunch of things with just one click funnily enough :)

I'd start with existing wiki pages like the tagging guidelines for aussies.

Someone may have to file a bug about it so it can be one of the
default presets shown that people can pick from without needing to
copy and paste a URL into JOSM.

I could hack together a quick DB+front end so that almost anyone could
maintain it, I just need to look up the structure I guess.

The public officier and secretary are 2 distinct roles, only the
public officier has to reside in NSW and there may be an age
restriction of 18 or over, however there os no residency restrictions
on board members unless we make it a rule.

The public officier's role is to file paper work etc with the Dept. of
Fair Trading, and has no board role.

yes, so do we need some statistical analysis like tagwatch to determine which
tags are in use?
a wiki page to put forward edits?
someone to sign up to maintain the list?

xml isn't really code, GPX files are a type of xml, the big issue
isn't putting together the xml file, it's working out what should be
in it.
