Re: [talk-au] Fwd: {Adelaide Metro Developer Group} Open Street Maps Contribution

2013-11-19 Thread Kate Chapman
Hi All,

(Kate from HOT, but I come to Australia at least once a year so I lurk on here)

I was going to suggest as another possibility a government sponsored
Mapathon. It could be a good way to get some new mappers interested
where having accurate transport routing is important to them
potentially outside of the "traditional" OpenStreetMap contributors.

Best,

-Kate

[talk-au] reallybigroadtrip/OpenStreetMap and you?

2013-05-15 Thread Kate Chapman
Hi All,

I'm Kate and I work for the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team in
Jakarta, Indonesia. Only partially related to my day job I'm going to
be a Nomad in Residence on reallybigroadtrip(1) from May 24th-June
17th. Reallybigroadtrip is an art/tech experiment of Fee Plumley. She
invites various technologists and artists to join her to work on a
variety of projects as she travels on her bus around Australia.

Fee and I will be at the Floating Land Festival(2) in the biosphere of
Noosa. We are looking for Investigative Cartographers to join us for a
Master Class and then assist in our project for Floating Land from May
26th until June 9th. We are using OpenStreetMap and LED lights to
create a map about people's feelings about place. We have more
information and an application form on the reallybigroadtrip
website(3).

Also I'll be in Brisbane on May 24th and in Sydney for ISEA(4) from
7th-16th of June. It would be great to meet-up with some other OSM
people if anyone is around and able. Of course I would love to see you
at Float Land as well!

Best,

-Kate
