[talk-au] ACTmapi data and openstreetmap
Hi everyone Is it ok to use ACTmapi data for mapping, specifically the 2016 (maybe 2015, iirc it's also creative commons) as iirc it's licensed under creative commons attribution. http://www.actmapi.act.gov.au/terms.html Also if we are able to use it how does one go about getting different datums to play nice in josm. ACTmapi uses AGD something. I have been successful in getting QGis to play nice with it so maybe it might be a case of having some kind of interpreter or using QGis to take AGD and output mecocretor geotiffs for import into josm. Re: [talk-au] How to tag swimming pontoons
The swimming raft describes it exactly man_made=pontoon was my first thought but wasn't sure (was checking on a mobile device on the bus) so I'll use that. With tagging the ladder, the pontoons can rotate a fair bit so how sensitive is the position of something like a ladder? Swimming area is also something I plan on marking as these swimming areas do have buoys on like a cable around the perimeter marking the boundary. Thank you to everyone for their input so far, the help is very much appreciated. It seems that there are two ways to tag a swimming raft. The first is from OpenSeaMap seamark:type=pontoon https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:seamark:type%3Dpontoon There's 36 of these. The other is man_made=pontoon (There's 87 of these). [talk-au] How to tag swimming pontoons
Hi all Quick question How does one map a swimming pontoon? Our local lake has two beaches that has them. They consist of a floating platform with a ladder to one side and are anchored to the bottom of the lake and are mostly static although they do move and rotate a little. [talk-au] Query about how to map maxstay when it's conditional
Hi guys, I've come across two car parks with one of those really fun conditional max stay signs. So the situation is that the car park is open 24/7 but on Mon-Fri it's 3hr parking from 7.30am to 6pm, excl public holidays. So what I am thinking of doing is mapping it with maxstay="Mo-Fr 07:30-18:00 3h; Sa-Su, PH none" in the hopes that it's sane enough that it's usable. It's certainly human readable provided whatever it is that is using the data presents the value of maxstay to the user. opening_hours="Mo-Fr 07:30-18:00 3h; Sa-Su, PH off" + maxstay="3h" doesn't seem right because it basically implies that the carpark is not open on weekends/public holidays and when it is open it's only 3hr parking. There is actually a lot of car parks here in Canberra that have little or no information about maxstay, pay, opening_hours, etc so would be handy to know what's the best way/most kosher way of mapping it. [talk-au] Correct tagging for life rings (life saving buoy)
Hi all, Been doing some searching trying to work out how to tag a life saving buoy, its basically enclosed in a enclosure located near a emergency phone. So after some googling I've come across the following. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:emergency%3Dlife_ring http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:amenity%3Dlife_ring Both of which as far as I know do not come up on any maps. I've gone for the emergency=life_ring as its the most used one and appears not to be a proposed element so should be good. Is there any other tags I should consider putting on it or is that it? (it seems too easy lol) Cheers, Max ___ Talk-au mailing list Talk-au@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-au
Re: [talk-au] Correct tagging for life rings (life saving buoy)
Thanks, I learn something new everyday :) As far as I remember there was no blaringly obvious markers or operator info on it. Just "Life Saving Buoy" in big white letters on the bright red enclosure (looks alot like a fire hose from a distance) There is an emergency telephone nearby though (identical to what you find on federal highways) which I mapped too Ta, Max On 5 October 2015 at 20:21, Warin <61sundow...@gmail.com> wrote: > On 5/10/2015 6:58 PM, Max Bainrot wrote: > >> Hi all, >> >> Been doing some searching trying to work out how to tag a life saving >> buoy, its basically enclosed in a enclosure located near a emergency phone. >> >> So after some googling I've come across the following. >> >> http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:emergency%3Dlife_ring >> >> http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:amenity%3Dlife_ring >> >> Both of which as far as I know do not come up on any maps. >> > Yep.
