Is voor mij thuis (nog) geen probleem, maar voor zo'n party dus wel. Een extra router zou misschien wel kunnen helpen. Re: [OSM-talk-be] Similar open-navigation-data-project
Hi all, Since you are talking about public transport, the STIB/MIVB public transport company in Brussels has recently released all its lines, stops and schedules for Google Transit (using GTSF file format[1]). The actual file is not (yet?) publically available, but can be obtained if you ask them (with a description of your project explaining why it would be useful), and sign an agreement. I confirmed this by mail with Benoît Laurent (laurentb * stib dot irisnet dot be). I think it would be interesting at least to get the positions and names of all tram and bus stops in the Brussels Capital Region, and check the existing routes relations (bus, tram and metro lines). The whole dataset could also be useful if someone wanted to make a full routing site like Google itself. Being quite busy at this moment, I hope someone else will want to go through all the hoops required to actually get this data. Feel free to contact me if you want to do this and need more information. Re: [OSM-talk-be] Announce: Spring mapping party around Turnhout end of march
Stadspark is very nice, but can be very busy! About the network connections I meant to say that the firmware in my modem doesn't allow more than 3 computers to go online. All get an IP adres and can work with each other, but only 3 have access to the Internet. It's a known 'feature' of those modems... Re: [OSM-talk-be] Announce: Spring mapping party around Turnhout end of march
I think we found a good location - taverne Stadspark - but I still have to check there. It has wifi available and is well located between town center and the areas with most work - schorvoort - parkwijk - zevendonk. We are also thinking of 'spreading the news' quite large in the hope to attrackt some new people that might be able to contribute to OSM in the -large- area of Turnhout. So we hope to have a lot of people there... including new ones. Network connections would not be a problem though. One connection can be multiplied... at home we have 10 connections, only use one, and multiply that 2 times to around 250... ;-) I'll check on the 'stadspark' possibilities this afternoon. It only opens at 11, but as we change the clock to summertime that morning I guess most people won't mind we do not start at 9... Re: [OSM-talk-be] Announce: Spring mapping party around Turnhout end of march
Hi all, I've been lurking on this list for a while now, wanted to start mapping, but never completely figured out how to do all of it. I still have to check with my wife (since she's my agenda), but possibly I could attend the party. If there is no location yet, since I'm from Oud-Turnhout I could also host the party. I have one practical problem: my ADSL modem/wireless router is such a Philips-Belgacom thing that only allows 3 connections. That could be a problem of course. If I look at the Doodle, Sunday 28 March would the best day? Greets, Chris On Sat, Feb 20, 2010 at 2:12 PM, Ivo van den Maagdenberg wrote: > Hi mapsters, > > One month to go and winter will end. Communities and others are editing "the map" of Belgium, adding industrial zones, incorporating buildings etc, but where do these things get into?? An anonymous server, made to trash, and restart the project. Politicians do not know what (open) data is ... What looks like a similar project to route planning: using the public transport: http://metro.nanika.net/MetroC-en.html It doesn't look like a big job to include a complete "drive" from a certain bus, eg bus 75 from Kortrijk to Deinze. It is no because the data from rural aerea's will not be published in the official version, thyat we cannot keep our own version. Metro-application itself is not open source... You can find this app on Mappy.fr GPS devices. (the Carrefour Ghyvelde carries them @59 euro.).
